Three political parties said that they have no plan to tax farmers if they win the upcoming July general election. These declarations were made by the three opposition parties after Hun Sen claimed on Saturday that the opposition parties declared that the will raise the salary of civil servants by forcing farmers to pay tax on their farmlands. The Cambodia Daily reported that SRP, NRP and HRP officials all claimed that their respective parties have no plan to tax farmlands. Mrs. Mu Sochua, SRP deputy Secretary-general, said the SRP never entertain any strategy of taxing farmers. She said that this is (Hun Sen’s) strategy to intimidate voters. Kem Sokha, HRP president, said that his party has no plan to tax the poor. Muth Chantha, NRP spokesman, said that land tax that his party is focusing on is the tax levied against concession lands given out by the government.

It is easy to understand how the national coffer is made of - Taxes and excises on import and export of goods, business/corperate taxes, income tax, revenues from tiehr applicable sources just to name a few.

To enable to meet any increase in spending [national budget] or pay increase for public servants then the best venue is through:

1] taxes and excises as mentioned above

or

2] must drastically reduce the government spending

or

3] use any future funds [if there's any]
