Well, like I told you many times, I was only a ballet dancer...but my hero-king father bequeathed the throne to me, because he always felt being king is the same as being on stage: you just have to maintain your balance and dance along to the tune of the moment... Besides, the other of my father's children all have this annoying habit of making a fine mess of things as soon as they have a taste of power, from Chakrapong, Rannariddh... And stop bringing up that 2005 Supplemental Treaty with our eastern neighbour. I hesitated when Mr Kong Sam Ol asked me to sign it because I had no idea what 'Phu Qoc' was! I thought it had something to do with an agreement to import fish sauce from Vietnam, so I telegraphed papa in Beijing and asked him if he thought this was one of those things the King of Cambodia was expected to do, and yes, papa said it was my job to do whatever I was required to, and never to question whether it's fish sauce or soy sauce!
As for that televised script I read out to the leaders of the two parties - it was Mr Sam Ol's idea really. I've got the whole world to think "The King of Cambodia calls upon the disputing parties to resolve their differences for the sake of the nation" whilst 'I' also announced the date for the convening of the National Assembly session. So it is irrelevant whether any differences will have been resolved by that date or not! But, you see, my beloved subjects will not have noticed this kind of details - they are just proud to see their king exercising his authority by summoning politicians to the palace! I think old Mr Sam Ol said something about it being a 'cosmetic exercise'. What a clever, crafty old man he is. We all know that Cambodians of 21st century know very well who is capable and who is not.
I guess Cambodia is poor, but not poor enough yet to get rid of a useless institution represented by a king who certainly is not sure of what his role is!!!
In my opinion, we can send quite a few of Cambodian students to study abroad from the money saved by getting rid of an institution that not only fails its duty, but serves as a legitimizing stamp for a man and a party that never protect the interest of the country and its people first or even at all!

It is time for Hun Sen to wake up by now. Because they are borrowing your hands to do all of the dirty works for them. They have done this kind of business for the last thousand years. They are very good at lying, deceiving and manipulation. They did it to Laos, Chompa, Khmer krom,. Koh Tral and now the whole srok khmer, if you let them.
Both Viets and Chinese have lived based on a lie. They have fooled the international community not to interfere in srok khmer gov't while they do. Nevertheless, in the end, the truth will always be the truth. Because God is right and just and he knows every move you make. First of all , thank KI writer this article so much. That is the topic that lots of my friends and I are suspect about the speech of Khmer king. In fact as King he must not read the paper for greet his subject at all (please look to other kings or queen like Thai king, ...) and his reading is so very stranger. His speech shows that he has other obstacal boss behind his back, in compire with his father just 50% from him.
The easy question is that Hun Sen & Sam Rainsy are his children (language of kingdom) but why he is afraid from them?, as for me he is just a parrot of CPP and this content of his speech was written also from CPP. How can Khmers believe on him? NO NO

The King has to read from the manuscript was written for him. All King or Queen who only reigns, but does not rule are all the same. They have to read from manuscripts speech vetted by his secretary, and on state visits the speeches are vetted by the foreign office.
This person School of Vice has erred the term "Reign". But if one is only interest in bashing, cursing and insulting, yes of course, that person would never want to educate him/herself or learn what is meant by King or Queen only reigns but does not rule.
Unlike his father King Sihanouk who both reigned and ruled with all power, this King only reigns.
He was crowned as a mere figurehead but he has no absolute authority in the government affair nor he can do whatever he wishes like his father did. Because today, the people do not view or allow the monarch to possess such a divine right to rule anymore.
The monarch only represents ancient Khmer tradition that is all. Yes he is a figurehead but he does not have veto power. There is no power left for him only the right to advise.
Let see how the King will advise this cheating election by Hun Sen. But remember the King has no power regardless.

King Sihamony must make himself a King of Cambodia because he eats Cambodia rice, sleeps in Cambodia Palace built by Cambodian money regardless of what blood he comes from.
Many Cambodians and I see that:
King Sihamony is a tool of Viet's cpp and he is leaning toward China and Vietnam, the two countries do not care about Cambodia but their interest. So the King must not make himself a stupid KING but for the Cambodian people.
I believe in decision based on potential benefit and not personal hatred or dislike. I agree in being without momarchy but before that stage, we must be certain first that
Cambodia is a true democracy country like N.Korea, Singapore,
Indonesiak,or Malysia. Kingship is not always bad, like Thailand, Japan, and in other countries.
The meeting has reached an agreement on three points:
1. Respect the king's message dated 16/9/13 calling for calm and peace after a day of violence between police and protesters.
2. Both sides agreed to set up a mechanism for the reforms of the elections in the future.
3. Both sides continue to talk at all levels to resolve national issues.
The CNRP,
This agreement is the beginning of the end of the CNRP.
This dumb King has never responded to any Khmer people cry out for help, the destruction of Khmer natural resource, the loss of land and sea, etc… .
The CNRP has won the election, and the CPP stole it. Now you follow “ Prea Reach Domress Sdach Leukeu Sihamoni”. It will work in favor of the Yuon slave CPP, and it will gradually weaken the CNRP. Khmer people are not going to support an aimless party CNRP. It is so sad and ridiculous that during this turbulent time, the regular citizens seem to understand Cambodia’s problems more than the so called political leaders.
Khmer people have firmly asked you to stick firmly with your initial request., and now you changed it.
Don’t count on any electoral reform that would help you (CNRP) to win again. Your decision to accept this dumb King’s advice has alienated many people already. Your wrong decision has already broken Khmer apart without the Yuon slave CPP’s action.
YOU MUST STICK WITHH YOUR INITIAL DEMAND. If you are a wimp and keep listening to that dumb King, you better quit and let the strong one resume the work because this heavy favorable opportunity to save Cambodia will never come again.
Notice that, even if the CNRP won the 2018 election, the CPP and the evil Vietnam will not transfer you the power. What would the CNRP do besides the demonstration? If you do the demonstration at that time, would this time 2013 is a better one? This 2013 demonstration has a solid foundation because the CNRP had won and this demonstration has wide support from Khmer people and the international community, and consequently the CNRP will win. Perseverance and consistency are the keys to win over this evil Vietnam. Don’t be a loser, the CNRP must know how to seize the once in a life time opportunity.
I would like to recall a vital wrong decision that the CNRP has made in this 2013 election.
Before the election, the CNRP had demanded the CPP to overhaul the NEC. The CPP refused.
After Sam Rainsy returned to Cambodia, the movement of the people supporting the CNRP was skyrocketing. I wrote in this KI everyday after Sam Rainsys return to call on the CNRP to seize the opportunity by switching from campaigning to mounting a nationwide demonstration to change the NEC because the momentum of the people supporting the CNRP was surreal and the CPP will have no choice but to accept the NECs change. I had called on the CNRPs leaders to stop campaigning a few hours and used those precious few hours to make an urgent decision to change its strategy from campaigning to demanding the NEC’s change until the election day, making the election impossible. If the election were impossible, this traitor hun Sen could not cheat and proclaimed himself the winner.
Therefore, one essential lesson is that the CNRP must understand the words opportunity and momentum. Don’t let these 2 elements slip by because they are rarely come.
If you implement this agreement, you let these 2 elements slip by, and you will become the loser forever. But, the traitor Hun Sen has never honored his promised. The CNRP must learn from him and go back and stick with your original demand: the inquiry of the electoral fraud.
If the CNRP failed this time, the CNRP should look itself after the Funsipek s fate because people including myself start losing interest in you already.
Don’t ever hope that you will win in 2018 because you are dumber than a dumb person named King Siamoni, who has always followed .the traitor Hun Sen’s orders.

My opinion regarding meeting on September 16, 2013 between CNRP and CPP:
No needs to respect the King messages because Hun Sen has controlled the King it mean he hijack the King, all most every Cambodians known that.
CNRP should not accept to allow open gap for set up a mechanism for the reforms of the elections. This is the most dangerous, CNRP should know about Dictator Hun Sen by now.
CPP trying to drag the Cambodian people issue longer and longer, they intentionally make Cambodian people lost their interest with CNRP.

I do not think that Cambodia has any benifit in the present days of having the kings, rule or reign. Many countries have no kings and they do just fine. The Cambodian Royal family is associated with the communists and was a member of the Khmer Rouge or CPK. Lon Nol should have Bulldoze the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh in the 70s when he had a chance. The palace is one historical complex that we should not have any regret to destroy. Remember the Killing Fields the King Father told us to forget? And he forced the populace to forgive in what he called national reconcilliation. The only problem is that the reconcilliation is one sided and we still have no justice! Sihanouk had never offer any explaination! With the way things are going, Vietnam may be able to swallow Cambodia whole with very litle effort, that means no bloodshed on their part, simply by setting up a cliant regime and by using the likes of Hun Sen!!!

The CNRP is the winner. The winner must not let the loser dictates the pace of the game.
By agreeing to follow the "Preah Reach Damress Maha Ksath Leukeu Sihamoni" the CNRP has already partly made concession to the loser.
King Sihamoni follows Hun Sen’s order who is in turn followed Vietnam’s order. And how do you expect to liberate Cambodia from Vietnam when you follow its order ?
The traitor Hun Sen and his master Vietnam have been succeeded at diverting Khmer people attention from the nationwide demonstration to the "wait and see" the result of the negotiation. This is a "protracted war" tactic. The loser is the CNRP.
The momentum of the CNRP has gone down the drain. The CNRP must admit that it made a mistake by following Sihamoni’s suggestion, and it must make a quick adjustment and go back to the initial demand pertaining to the electoral fraud.
Make the demonstration until the loser concedes its defeat and transfer the power to you.
If the CNRP failed to capitalize this opportunity, it will be viewed by the people as incompetent, and the CNRP might subsequently slowly disintegrate because the CNRP’s decision to follow Preah Reach Damress Maha Ksath Leukeu Sihamoni has alienated so many people already.

We need the international community’s intervention, but the International community needs a leverage to do so. It is imperative that the mass demonstration must go on until the CNRP gets the victory that the people have given it. If the CPP used force to suppress the mass demonstration, it would give the International community the necessary leverage to move in to help Cambodia
The CNRP should not take anything less than the victory. Khmer people have propelled you to the top, not the stupid King.
If the CNRP’s MPs convened in this 23rd September, that means the end of the CNRP.
DON’T DO IT.
If the CNRP wanted to remain strong, it must stay with the people and forget about this King Kong Sihamoni.
