Chea Mony, president of the Free Trade Union of Workers of the Kingdom of Cambodia (FTUWKC) said in the Phnom Penh Post newspaper this week that he still believes that the two accused of killing his brother, Chea Vichea, are not guilty.

Chea Mony declared that the true killer [of Chea Vichea] are not Born Samnang and Sok Sam Oeurn, and if the police used its professional expertise, then the assassins [of Chea Vichea] will surely be found.

In January [2006], 10 Phnom Penh police officers were arrested by the authority in relation to the assassination of judge Sok Sethamony in 2003, and the attempted murder on Police Military General Sao Sokha.

Naly Pilorge, director of Licadho, told the press that at least one the 10 police officers [recently arrested] was involved in the arrest if Born Samnang and Sok Sam Oeurn, as well as the investigation on the murder case of Chea Vichea.
