Funcinpec is pleased to inform the public that: Funcinpec welcomes the proposal of H.E. Sam Rainsy, President of Sam Rainsy Party, requesting an amendment on the new Article 90 of the constitution of the Kingdom of Cambodia, in which the 2/3 rule required to provide confidence to the government would be changed to an absolute majority (50+1) rule, as the Funcinpec once demanded in 1993 in the framework of the constitutional council.
Funcinpec agrees on the amendments necessary to other related articles.
Funcinpec agrees to support the declaration made by the CPP party dated 13 February 2006 which stressed: the application of the above amendments will not affect the operation of the current Royal Government, nor the good cooperation between the CPP and Funcinpec parties.
