Several hundred villagers from the provinces of Kampong Speu, Takeo, Preah Vihear, Sihanoukville, Banteay Meanchey and other places had gathered in front of Botum Vatey pagoda to complain to Mr. Sam Rainsy about land grabbing.
The villagers have enumerated a number of problems they face and asked Mr. Sam Rainsy to intervene for the release of some of their villagers.
Mr. Sam Rainsy said that he heard all their complaints and he informed them that his standing always lies on the defense of people who had been abused.
Mr. Sam Rainsy said: "I am telling the victims of illegal and unjust land grabbing that they can count on the Sam Rainsy Party to defend them in the search for justice. The standing of the Sam Rainsy Party, the principles of the Sam Rainsy Party did not change and remains the same. What we are doing is we can and we are changing our attitude in the way we work, but our determined goals are to provide justice to the people, to absolutely fight, to always fight corruption, land grabbing, the abuse on people, the loss of land. What affect the loss of national properties and loss of people properties, we will always fight."
Mr. Sam Rainsy promised to those hundreds of people assembled there that his party will help find justice for them so that they can recover what they have lost.
