Anonymous source from senior officials within the Funcinpec party said that Prince Norodom Ranariddh, the President of Funcinpec party and husband of Princess Marie Ranariddh, had filed divorce papers from the princess at the Phnom Penh municipal court. However, no indication are provided about the date of the filing of the divorce papers.

Reliable source indicated that Princess Ouk Phalla, the illegitimate wife of the Prince, advised the Prince on this divorce action.

Yesterday, officials from the Phnom Penh municipal court cannot be contacted to clarify on the divorce of Prince Ranariddh and Princess Marie Ranariddh.

Ouk Phalla, the illegitimate wife of Prince Ranariddh, took refuge in Malaysia following the revelation and criticisms made by prime minister Hun Sen on her, the unofficial “Chum Teav” [wife of a high ranking official], the illegitimate wife who spins her husband like a dice, forcing him to perpetrate various criminal acts in the past. Mr. Hun Sen labeled the mistresses of a number of high ranking officials as the group of devil foxes who pulled down to the mud the honor of a number of men. Even though Mr. Hun Sen did not name the political party leader in question as being Prince Ranariddh, the latter’s attitude during the plenary session of the National Assembly yesterday is a good indication that the prince has something to hide, and that he was the target of the constant attacks by the prime minister.

No one knows why Prince Ranariddh had so carelessly decided to file his divorce from Princess Marie Ranariddh, and instead chose Ouk Phalla, whom the rumors spread that she already had numerous lovers in the past.

The same Funcinpec source also told us that Prince Ranariddh is planning to leave for France in the near future for medical reason. This information corroborates with the declaration made by the Mr. Nguon Nhel, the second vice-president of the National Assembly, who indicated that Prince Ranariddh, the president of the National Assembly is ill. However, Mr. Nguon Nhel did not precise the nature of the prince’s illness, he only said that the prince left yesterday National Assembly plenary session shortly after presiding it – a plenary session held to reinstate the immunity of three MPs yesterday (Tuesday).

Neutral Funcinpec party members are concerned about the latest attitude of Prince Norodom Ranariddh, and the fact that he decided to divorce his first wife to take the illegitimate princess Ouk Phalla, whose name is now nationally and internationally infamous, just as Mr. Hun Sen reported on Sunday that some politicians took their mistresses to show off on the international arena.

Last month, during the leading of Cambodian athletes to the Seagame competition in the Philippines, the prince was accompanied by Ouk Phalla to the official meeting of Seagame representatives. During that meeting, an official of the Funcinpec party who also accompanied the prince told us that the president of the Philippines, Mrs. Arroyo Macapagal, asked the prince who the young lady [accompanying him] was. The prince did not provide any reply to the question.

On Tuesday morning, during the presiding of the plenary session of the National Assembly, the behavior of Prince Ranariddh was not normal. This led Mr. Nguon Nhel to say that the prince is ill.

The latest news indicated that the historical president of the Funcinpec party, Prince Norodom Ranariddh, is very ill mainly from his removal from the position of president of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC).
