The eight-member delegation of the European Union arrives in Cambodia Wednesday afternoon to monitor the political and economic development.
The delegation is especially interested in democracy, human rights development, and good governance.
It will be in Cambodia for a week. Speaking to reporters upon arrival in Phnom Penh, head of the delegation for Asian countries and ASEAN relation's first vice president Mark Tarabela says he plans to meet with high-ranking Cambodian government officials, including Prime Minister Hun Sen, to talk about political issues, economic situation and cooperation between Cambodia and the EU., civil society leaders, and opposition party officials.
Government spokesman Khieu Kanharith says he does not know whether Prime Minister Hun Sen will meet with the delegation or not.
However the spokesman, who is also the Minister of Information, says he will meet with Mr. Tarabela to discuss about information matters Thursday.
The delegation plans to meet deputy Prime Minister Sar Kheng, National Assembly's leader Heng Samrin, and opposition party leader Sam Rainsy Thursday.
The Cambodia Center for Human Rights' (CCHR) director Kem Sokha says he will meet the delegation on April 23rd and hopes the delegation can join CCHR forum in Kampong Chhnang province. Kem Sokha says he will ask for the EU delegation's assistance with the CCHR's radio station.

Is that mean IRI stopping its support to that program?

I will be glad if Hun Sen won't meet with the delegation. This will show the world how arrogant he is and the world will not support him anymore. It will be good for Cambodia.
