Cambodian PM meets Chinese delegation

PHNOM PENH, April 22 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said on Saturday he will head a delegation to attend the 3rd China-ASEAN Expo and the ASEAN-China Commemorative Summit in Nanning, later this year, to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of ASEAN-China Dialogue Relations.

Hun made the remarks in a meeting with Cao Bochun, Secretary of Communist Party of China's Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and they exchanged views on friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, both sides agreed to further strengthen their cooperation on trade and economy, as well as other fields.

Hun Sen also expressed his hope that China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region will form the Sister Province relationship with a Cambodian province "in order to benefit and promote the cooperation on trade, economy and culture between the two province."

Hun Sen spoke highly of China and Cambodian friendly relationship. "The bilateral relations between Cambodia and China has been promoted into a new stage through the visit by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao earlier this month," he said.

The premier thanked Chinese government for its consistent support and assistance to Cambodia's development of society and economy which he said has played important role in maintaining the country's peace and stability.

China's Hainan and Yunnan provinces have already formed Sister Province relationships with Cambodia's Kampong Cham and Siem Reap provinces, while China's Shanghai has formed the Sister City relationship with Phnom Penh.

Cao and his delegation arrived here on Friday to pay a two-day visit here at the invitation of Cambodian Commerce Minister Cham Prasidh.

The delegation also donated seven vehicles, 100 walking tractors and 200 water pumps to Cambodia. Enditem
