The Cambodia Center for Human Rights' (CCHR) director Kem Sokha made a recent three-week visit to the U.S. and met with American leaders and Cambodian community in several states, including Washington, D.C.
He vows to continue his efforts to promote freedom and democracy for the Cambodian people and the nation's development.
He says that the obstacles will not deter him from his determination to stand by the Cambodian people and he will not leave them, even though there will be threats of repression, dictatorship and his renewed arrest.
He reiterates his position for democracy, and his principles which will not waver, saying that his destiny remains in the hands of the people.
He tries to expand his relationship with the U.S. and the European Union (EU). He says that the EU's assembly's delegation will go and observe his CCHR forums on April 23rd, and later will see the CCHR's radio station studios.
He says that guns, tanks, and weapons will not win over the people's support, and even the U.S. will not win with these arsenals if the American people did not support the US government when its troops operate in other countries.
He says that when the people protest, and conduct demonstrations because their leaders do not change or reform, it is not a good sign.
The people will want to have elections.
He stresses that he adhere the principles of non-violence, and that the leaders should not consider themselves as God, thus go on killing the people and telling lies.

Kem Sokha become fool with his saliva. This year he did not run away because he had no where to go. The donor freed funding to his organisation from the end of 2005 to early 2006. His arrest has saved him alot of trouble.
He is on his way to self-destruction. The Cambodian word of Kong Hean is suitable for him. He collects all credit while other people working hard to make CCHR survive. He hardly mentions those people, but only himself.
I tend to think along the line of the first person who commented about Kem Sokha. I would like to see slow down a bit and mention his colleagues' name as well as team work boosted him to that stage. Also if arrogance comes into play, a leader cannot last long. Finally, my message to Mr Kem is that he should be aware of the CPP and VN tricks to try to kill any Cambodian leader who has a strong base and very popular.
Apart from that, good luck and all the very best.
Kem Sokha has been doing a great job in advocating and educating people about democracy and human rights...He is a good candidate for Khmer leader in the future..We need a leader like Mr. Kem who is caring and loving his country...

You can shine your own star and share your own principles to people and let people make judgement on their own about you and your leadership strength is truly appropriate. However, to deface others so you could fool people in order to get yourself lots of credit as a ladder to clime to the top is not respectable.
Hope all khmer leaders stop hurting each other and start challenge others with good intellect and good deeds while serving the best interest of general khmer people.
