KINGMAN, Ariz. - Some new developments in the federal sex crimes case against a Kingman anesthesiologist.
Prosecutors allege Doctor Alexander Miles married a 15-year-old Cambodian girl in 2001 in Cambodia. Then, they say, he presented fraudulent documents indicating his bride was 18 in order to obtain a passport and visa so the girl could come to the U-S.
The 48-year-old Miles was scheduled to go on trial Monday in federal court in Oklahoma City but the case against him was dismissed on a legal technicality just before the trial was to begin.
Miles, however, was re-arrested on a new complaint before he could be released from custody. Then yesterday, he was indicted on a new charge.
