A christian pastor is killed and a christian church burned in two separate incidents.
Police officials and local authorities say that christian pastor Outh Cheoung is a christian teacher and a photographer in Svay Chek town, Banteay Mean Chey province and was killed at the beginning of March, a few months before a christian church was burned down by a group of 300 Buddhists, in Lovear Em town, Kandal province.
Cambodia Christian association of Protestant faith's leader Thath Bun Cheoun says that the victim was threatened several times.
Police commissioner Chhoeung Sokhom says that the victim's wife believes he died of a sudden illness, similar to a heart attack.
Provincial governor Chev Saren believes that the two groups disagree about the church being built side by side of the Buddhist temple but does not think the murder was the result of religious beliefs.
The Ministry of Cult and Religion State Secretary in charge of religions Sith Ibrahim says that the issue is internal rift.

Hopefully, the religious problem will not become religious war just like in other country.
If no measure from the government, this conflict will escalate in the future. I am not against with any religious, but some missionary have conducted the religious teaching shame fully. Some religion uses their rich material to take advantege and exploit the poverty situation in Cambodia. They even incited son and daughter to disrespect their parents. In some case in the past, they even separated children from their families in the name of god (Australia Aborigines).
It happened everywhere in the democracy countries (Korea, Taiwan, Philippines..). Thailand is not a democracy country. If we honor democracy, freedom of speach and religion must be accepted. Christianity and democracy have been the tools for years of the West to convert and took over the countries' cultures. Look at Koreans, Japaneses, Taiwanese,... they have democracy and freedom, but 90% were converted to Christians. China is strongly resisting to that direction. Cambodia will face to same extinction of its original faith (like in Brazil). Democracy, economy, and culture will be all together. If we watch Singapore TV, all Chinese singers are trying to dress and act like Americans. It is sad.
