PHNOM PENH, Cambodia, May 16 (UPI) -- The Cambodian National Petroleum Authority and Japanese firm Mitsui & Co., Ltd. have signed an oil and gas joint venture project.
The deal, reported by the official Agence Kampuchea Presse last Friday, establishes a joint venture on oil- and gas-related projects. The venture, with investment of $200,000 will provide such services as preparation of business plans and feasibility studies.
Cambodia plans to start oil exploitation in 2009.
The deal was signed by Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister H.E Sok An. Japanese Ambassador Takahashi Fumiaki was present at the ceremony.
