Thai military chief visits Cambodia for boundary talks

BANGKOK, May 2 (TNA) - Thai Armed Forces Chief Gen. Ruengroj Mahasaranond visited Cambodia Tuesday to discuss the two countries' boundary demarcation with Cambodian authorities.

The major issue for discussion was to be boundary demarcation concerns, as little progress has been made due to the legal complexities of the boundary agreement signed by Thailand--then Siam--and France, a century ago, when Cambodia was a French colony.

The issue needs urgent resolution, Gen. Ruengroj said before leaving for Phnom Penh, "and the process needs to be speeded up."

The Armed Forces Chief said he hoped to accelerate the process. "Although it won't be completed while I'm at my post, I'll try to make it move faster," he said.

A team from the Thailand-Cambodia Joint Boundary Commission has been asked to resolve the demarcation issue to prevent boundary problems along the entire stretch of the two countries common land boundary--but the survey and demarcation process is still incomplete.

Early in February, Thai Foreign Minister Kantathi Suphamongkhon held talks with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hor Namhong in Phnom Penh pushing for quick progress in resolving the border issue.

In addition to the boundary demarcation resolution, the Armed Forces Chief said he would also talk with the Cambodian authorities about joint efforts in combating the smuggling of vehicles and drugs across the two countries' border. (TNA)-E009

Now, be very meticulous -- you might lose Battambang and Siem Reap to Thai.

Thai, is now hurry in to get a piece of the pie before Vietnam take all the entire land from Cambodia. Last month what know what Hun Sen signed over to Vietnam. We don't see/we don't know what he put on paper for Vietnam. Only times will tell. Now Thai need to have their fair share. They will force HunSen to give up some land and sign some more paper. In the near future Cambodia will be divided half for Thai and half for Vietnam. But the map will still look Khmer, but in reality it won't be.

Sad sad for Khmer people...
We allowed ourselves to kill our khmer and now Thai and Youn take over our land.
