A new exhibit at uptown Charlotte's Levine Museum of the New South will chronicle the arrival of Cambodians in the Carolinas.
"From Cambodia to Carolina: Tracing the Journeys of New Southerners" opens Tuesday and runs through Nov. 27 at the museum, 200 E. Seventh St. A free opening celebration from noon to 5 p.m. June 18 will feature Cambodian food tastings, music, dancing and a Buddhist blessing ceremony. Admission is free all day.
The exhibit will include costumes, photographs and artifacts. Spiritually significant attractions will include a Buddhist altar, monk's robe and Khmer language Bible.
