Keat Chhon to be heard by Khmer Rouge Tribunal (2)
Keat Chhon (rigth) (Photo RFA)Finance Minister Keat Chhon could be soon invited to testify at the newly formed Khmer Rouge Tribunal. From 1975 to 1979, i.e. during the whole reign of Pol Pot, he was a prominent member of the Khmer Rouge government and served as a senior adviser to Pol Pot and Ieng Sary (see Raoul Jennar’s book titled “Les clés du Cambodge”, pages 169, 170 and 213). Being a highly qualified engineer, he advised the two Khmer Rouge top leaders on “technical matters”, possibly in the same manner as Dr. Josef Mengele advised Adolf Hitler during World War II. Under the Vietnamese occupation, Keat Chhon was still a “Minister” of “Democratic Kampuchea” taking orders from Pol Pot until March 1981. He defected to the Hun Sen regime in 1992.
Reminder of the Khmer Rouge hierarchy (2)In the above-mentioned “Les clés du Cambodge” (page 97), Prime Minister Hun Sen declared on 16 December 1988: “Pol Pot is still le number one of the Khmer Rouge, followed, in that order, by Ieng Sary, Son Sen, Ta Mok, Nuon Chea, Ke Pauk and Khieu Samphan.” Only Ieng Sary, Ta Mok, Nuon Chea and Khieu Samphan are still alive today. For political expediency, the current Phnom Penh government is now trying to minimize the role of Ieng Sary under the “Democratic Kampuchea” and put him somehow lower in the Khmer Rouge hierarchy. In 1996, Ieng Sary was instrumental in leading the first faction of the Khmer Rouge to defect to the Hun Sen regime (the second faction led by Pol Pot defected only in 1998). Since his defection Ieng Sary has been very cooperative with those he used to consider as his worst enemies, who sentenced him to death in 1979.

This animal must go and pay his price for the destruction of Cambodia. He has always working with animals feroce animal like Pol Pot and Hun Sen. He has refused to work with good such as Lon Nol and Republican. THe court must declare all his assets owned by all his families to be froezen first. He must have stolen a lot of monies from public since 1975. All his travelling since 1975 until now all in business class while all Cambodian were hungry and starve to death. God has the eyes.
What is the hell of definition of 'highly qualified engineer' in this context? If all engineering projects during Pol Pot's period were adviced by Kiet Chhon, his engineering qualification should be defined differently. I wish if he could stop advising on current engineering tasks, or Cambodian destiny would go backward to the past.
This animal was a very lazy student. When he studied in France. he has failed his exam, therefore Cambodian government has discontinued his scholarship for him to return to Cambodia. But after his lost his support from Cambodia scholarship, he has asked Communism organisation international to support his studies. He then has owed to them for his works in implemenation of communism in Cambodia. He is an idiot and he serve only to idiot organisation. He shamed his families , his parents and all his children for many generation. What an animal.
He can be considered as a Cambodian Talleyrand. Which mean someone who often change side but still a great stateman. As Talleyrand, KC always tried to give his best to serve the interests of Cambodia.
However, ther's one thing I don't agree with him, that is he's reluctant to decrease taxes on gasoline. Cambodian gas is more expensive than Thai and Vietnamese. Totally absurd!!
