Prince Sisowath Thomico wrote to Funcinpec President Prince Norodom Ranariddh on Monday asking him to dissolve the royalist party in order to form a new one. In a two-page letter, Prince Thomico told the Funcinpec leader that the royalist movement was beset with factionalism and had to be reunified in order to fulfill its ideals. "This reunification cannot be made possible without the neutralization of those elements within Funcinpec that have sought to marginalize you and to divert [the party] from its founding mission," Prince Thomico wrote. "That is why today I am appealing to the patriotism you have always shown…for you to dissolve Funcinpec." Prince Ranariddh's public affairs adviser Ok Socheat said Funcinpec could not be dissolved. "[Prince Thomico] lacks political experience. If we dissolve Funcinpec, we will eliminate our identity," Ok Socheat said. He added that Funcinpec might consider an alliance with the new party that Prince Thomico plans to create. However, Funcinpec would first wait to see whether Prince Thomico's party was viable, he said.

even though Ah Krom Pret (Ah Kaun Chau of Nhek Bun Chhay) dissolves Funcipec Party,

Ah Krom Pret has still a very big problem to solve with us (Funcipec members and Mr. Prime Minister) the bribes he promised for the high positions and so on

We are waiting for him returning back in Cambodia

Bye ah Krom Pret
