Customs officers discovered two stolen luxury vehicles from Canada being smuggled into Sihanoukville port on Wednesday, Sihanoukville Autonomous Port Customs Director Lunh Vannak said Friday. On Aug 6, officials announced that 12 stolen vehicles had been seized in the port after Interpol issued an alert for stolen cars coming from North America. '"On Wednesday we opened two shipping containers and discovered two stolen vehicles shipped from Canada," Lunh Vannak said. "But these two were not mentioned in the Canadian Interpol complaint," he said. The two vehicles were a Hummer and a Ford luxury pickup. The earlier shipment included Mercedes, Chevrolet and Cadillac automobiles. The taxes on the 14 cars was around $400,000 to $500,000," Lunh Vannak said. "Each of the car could be worth between $40,000 to $80,000 each." Police do not yet have suspects in the stolen vehicle case, he added. "The owner has not shown up yet."
