According to the Cambodia Daily report below, not only are the border markers made by Vietnam, the installation of the border markers are also entrusted to Vietnam, while Phnom Penh will share the installation cost. According to a report by Cambodge Soir, Cambodian public was not welcome to the groundbreaking ceremony. One has to wonder how can Cambodian observes the installation of these markers as the Hun Sen regime once promised? (Photo: Bavet, Koh Santepheap)

Cambodian and Vietnamese officials held a groundbreaking ceremony for 353 border markers that will be put along the 1270 km border between the two countries by the end of 2008, officials said Sunday. Var Kim Hong, chairman of Cambodia's Border Committees, said he attended the Thursday ceremony across the border from Svay Rieng province's Bavet border crossing. The first marker should be officially installed in Bavet Sept 27, he said. At border crossings, seven of the 2-meter-high granite posts will have an image of Angkor Wat on the Cambodian side and a star on the Vietnamese side, Var Kim Hong said. Vietnam will spend $15 million setting up the markers, and will split the cost equally with Cambodia, he added. "It is a historical event. This is the first time in history that the border markers are to be set up when both countries are independent states," he said. Previous markers were put in place during the French colonial era and during the 1980s, he said, when Cambodia was occupied by Vietnam. Sam Rainsy Party lawmaker Son Chhay said that his party does not recognize this border agreement, and that the international community should have helped draw up the border to ensure that Cambodian territory was not encroached upon.

Mr. Sam Ransy probably lost his interest defending our boder or else it was part of a deal for his returning to Cambodia during the early month of this year. When he will win the election that could change.

Right now, he needs to look at the terrorists issue along the side of The United Stated. Can he find the Viet that is a terrorist to The US? Oh come on! Let stir up the past a little. Does the word Vietcong ring the bell?. I like that name very much!. Sure is a winning name!( my Sarcastic way ). It's your chance to throw 2 birds with one stone." Meaning to over throw the current Viet's government and Ah Hung Zun cronies". Now that is a real winning strategy!. Mr. Sam Rainsey what are you waitin for?

Ah Hung Zun's police department just got his gold medal by helping The US catching a terrorist. You have the same chance Sir! Your party need to be more Vigilant in this part of matter and you need to take it your heart. It's an extreame sensitive matter and it's matter the world the The United States and her people. That gold medal should have been for you and your party! Not them! You hear? Good Luck! We love you!

When is Thailand new election day anyway?

Oct 14th.2006? There is some hope in the horizon. We need to study Thailand a little bit more closely.

She is the country that is closest and the longest allied to The United States as it can be in our region. To ignore her in the future or her new government won't gain us anything. It certainly doesn't seem like a smart idea. Beside wouldn't that make us looks like a useless democracy country? We need to seek or find friend that will share the same interest and goal as us.

This is the real boder issue and the Big " T " word should always remain there until the whole world find peace. Welcome to 2007 and beyond sisters & brotherly loved Khmers!

Why this drawing up border means so much to Mr. Embassador from the US?

It means tight control to the terrorist. He didn't see that we lose our land or Ah Vietcong gaining it or did he? This is most blind spot that the world don't see and won't care. The next time it happens, you need to get involved to be fair or don't you have any say to it? Look it hurts Mr. Embassador. Those tears in our eyes are made up of pure blood and it can never be replaced as long as you stay as ignorance as you are today.

To all pretended patriots: Mr sam Rainsy, Cambodia Border Committee, Mr Kem Sokha and so on...
VIETNAM continue to annexe our land, millions of Vietnamese have settled all over our country and got the Khmer nationality and more and more Vietnamese continue to emigrate to Cambodia with the complicity of HUN SEN and every day we always hear Vietnam does this, Vietnam does that in our country.
We are sure that you must know that.
What are you waiting for to take action, such as asking all Khmer every where inside or ouside the country to hold a demonstration, protestation. Where are you? Why do you keep silent about it?
Please STRIKE WHILE THE IRON IS HOT

"Cambodian public was not welcome to the groundbreaking ceremony". I'm supprise that the Cambodian public is not welcome since Cambodia it tax payer paid for half of the cost. Is there something to hide?

Or is it the Government keep a lower porfile on the boarder encroachment... Once the boarder posts done Cambodain general public or NGO boarder committee should place a GPRS tracker on each poll and connect the poll location update the current map and compare to previous map held in UN to check if the boarder is in the right locations?
Bet you any money that it more on Cambodian side than the Viet side.
The Viet is placing it in Var Kim Hong ass in which he sit on.

Hallo Landleute!

Nein er will immer schlecht sehen. Er dürfte noch nicht allein denken!

Also Ministerpräsident, ich wünsche Ihnen einen gute Unfalltod.
