CPP sore-loser trait displayed in public in Poipet

Sam Rainsy giving a speech during the swearing in ceremony. The CPP in Poipet could not take their loss in the election, led by On Sum, the CPP governor of Banteay Chey, CPP supporters heckled the ceremony. Such gathering led by a CPP official without any official authorization was allowed by the police force present during the ceremony. Had the demonstration been held by anybody other than the CPP, the demonstrators would be seriously beaten by the cops. Such behavior by the police force is characterized as "blind justice" by Cambodian people. (Photo: Chao Prean, Koh Santepheap)

Protests Mar Swearing In of 4 SRP Village Chiefs

By Pin Sisovann and John Maloy
THE CAMBODIA DAILY

Four SRP village chiefs in Banteay Meanchey province's Poipet commune were sworn in Monday morning, despite a heavy police presence and protests, SRP officials said.

SRP officials claimed that pro-CPP protesters tried to disrupt the ceremony by using loudspeakers, banging on buckets and cutting power to the commune office, making it impossible to use a microphone.

The ceremony was organized by the Poipet commune council, which is headed by an SRP official, to inaugurate 11 village chiefs from the SRP, CPP and Funcinpec who were elected June 21. The 11 had not been sworn in previously due to an ongoing investigation by the Interior Ministry into election irregularities alleged by CPP Provincial Governor On Sum.

However, only the four SRP village chiefs were sworn in as the Funcinpec and CPP officials did not show up for the ceremony that was attended by about 100 SRP supporters.

SRP Commune Chief Hay Nam Heng said that the commune office was surrounded by some 200 pro-CPP protesters and about 50 police officers.

SRP leader Sam Rainsy, who attended the ceremony, said that about a dozen of the officers were armed with assault rifles "as if they were preparing for a military operation." Sam Rainsy claimed that about 20 protesters entered the office and heckled when the ceremony began. He said his bodyguards forcibly removed the group from the building. Sam Rainsy also said the ceremony had to be cut short due to safety concerns.

Governor On Sum said 200 protesters gathered outside the office of their own accord because "they know what is right and what is wrong."

Provincial Police Chief Chhoeung Sokhom said that he deployed 20 officers, four of them armed, to the ceremony. He confirmed there was a scuffle between protesters and Sam Rainsy's bodyguards, but that the police did not get involved.

Interior Ministry General Department Director Sak Setha said that the ministry would not recognize anyone sworn in at the ceremony.

Those former village chiefs are not the real players, and those policemen are like dogs who do not know where the bones they eat are from. They get salaries from people all over the country but work for those who rob the people's money.

Please stop behaving like the cowards. To be a real player, one must dare to recognize their weekness. Let's the people judge you!!

Why is there a stupid investigation? Why has it taken too long?

There is no need to be investigated because the number of the elective chief who represent from each party seems right. There are 4 chief for SRP and 4 or 3 for FUNCI and CPP; the total is 11 members. Why is the CPP think that they are everything and everywhere?

I want to remind you who are CPP's jackass that Poipet is not the province which embraces CPP hard core two heads snake which one head is sucking blood from the people and other head is spitting the bones. Poipet province is the mix of political supporters, so don't think that you buy and force everyone just because you are rude ruler, what's a jackass on Cambodia planet! I wish Cambodia vanish like dino so that they don't bitches.

I think AngKor Watt might not be built by Cambodian because Cambodian always kill and bitches at one another, they had never be able to form such a unity to construct something so famous like Angkor Watt. However, if Angkor Watt was built by Cambodian, Cambodian in the recent generation are so disgrace to their anciestors. Shame on you Cambodian!

Cambodian are good bowing their heads to foreigners and smile and be a slave of foreigner but they are so vicious with their own people. They have no remorse of killing their own. They will get their axes or bats if it is with their own people. Ashame! Ashame!

Anonymous 1:38 AM, I don't like what you said but it is so true. Cambodians afraid foreigners, love to kill their own people. What is wrong with Cambodians? Is it because of low self_esteam? Is this a sign of needing foreign dominationa? Ourselves who we blaim.

Sihanouk polices tortured KR and Khere serey, later Lon Nol's civil war killed 60,000 Khmers, later KR killed almost 2 millions, Hun Sen continues his political killings...suffering go on.....

Re: Anon@1:38 A.M
You went so far as to doubting whether Khmer had built and owned Angkor Wat just because of your little identity crisis? If you had one drop of klhmer blood in your systems, ask no more my friend...KHMER built Angkor Wat and it's for you to NOT doubt anymore. That is the KHMER's voice!!!
