Korea’s stock exchange system is gaining in appeal to countries in Southeast Asia. The Korea Exchange said Sunday it was selected as the preferred bidder along with its subsidiary Koscom in an international tender for a bond trading system for Malaysia's bourse. KRX last Monday signed a memorandum of understanding with Phnom Penh to build a stock exchange for Cambodia which it will also part-operate.

In addition, KRX is to export its stock trading and supervision systems to Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia. It has also struck a deal with Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX) to allow securities-related products except for KOSPI 200 future options to be traded in both markets starting in 2008.
