Khek Vandy, Funcinpec MP, already sent a letter to officially apologize to the CPP and especially to Prime Minister Hun Sen on 26 Jan.
Keo Puth Rasmey, Funcinpec party president, told RFA that in the content of his letter, Khek Vandy recognized that most likely he is old and he forgets a lot, that is why he said what he said unknowingly, or without remembering what he said.
Keo Puth Rasmey said: “In summary, Khek Vandy wants to express that he has no intention to create problems between the [government] leaders, that is between the king and the leader of the CPP…”
Keo Puth Rasmey added that this issue has been concluded, and Hun Sen already knew about it. Keo Puth Rasmey is confident that Hun Sen will understand this unintentional senility: “Samdech [Hun Sen] knows about this issue, I am confident that Samdech will understand because he already saw the letter stating that it was not an intentional problem.”
Khieu Kanharith, spokesman of the CPP, said that he received this information also, but that he did not receive the apology letter yet, therefore he cannot comment on it.
Khieu Kanharith said: “Funcinpec told me that yesterday, right now, I do not receive [the apology letter] yet, we’ll wait to see the answer first, then Samdech Prime Minister will provide his answer back.”
Dr. Lao Mong Hay said high ranking officials should not use words that could create a troublesome political atmosphere, but that he praises the apology made by Khek Vandy as a good culture to follow by Khmer politicians.
Dr. Lao Mong Hay said: “I believe that on important issues like this, [politicians] should not talk about it [casually because] when words leak out, they cause a troublesome political atmosphere… It is good that he [Khek Vandy] committed an affront, and then went on to apologize to correct back, to accept the responsibility like this.”

Hello,
1. Mentally incompetent from the start,
2. Got glued to the chair because of the power, and
3. Now most of them are becoming senile, and what so lopesided about some of them is that, regardless for the benefit of the country to move forward or not, "they won't give up their power easily"
I agreed with Dr. Lao Mong Hay. However, apology should not be a habit or an excuse after excuse, piling up defamation law suits against among the high ranking officials. That's so disgraced for the nation.

can you change your name please?? i can't take it when hearing word yuan in your name, may be somlor ma chau khmer???
thank
I tend to agree with both of your ideas.
I cannot comment whether the apology is necessary or sincere until I see the apology letter and what was saying.
Normally a sincere apology does not come with an attempt for justifications such as being old forgetful, or unintentional.
there is always a motive behind every action.
If I am to guess about this apology, it is most likely because because he feels threatened and nobody is with him, not even his royal family. He is by himself - alone.
If he say his is old and do not remember things, HS should tell him to resign from his public function. How come royalists are never too old to corrupt or to have sex?
EH POUK AH PLEOU LEU LEU!

I am sure Khek Vandy got our
message, that is we don't
appreciate troublemakers.
Now it is time to move on for
the good of the people and the
country.
Mr.Khek Vandy, Funcinpec MP, and he is old to remember, he should retire from his job for the benefit of the Cambodians.
He is no longer capable to perform his job.
They should all retire when they reach 55, so the new generation can serve their country.
Hun Sen's biography designed by Yuan is fault, his real age this year is 57 according to his late mother told one of her old best friend.
This Khek Vandy is too old with an Alzheimer disease.
What? now you want us to discrimate
against age too?
Isn't nationality enough?
What's next?
I don't know how old Khek Vandy is, but I think he is probably around late 70 years old. Khek Vandy used to have conflict with Sihanouk, not politics, but his love life with Monique. Monique was his lover before Sihanouk took her away from him. Khek Vandy was very upset. He lost his beautiful girl to the prince. In order to deflame his anger, he went on to marry Bopha Devy, the daughter of Sihanouk.
Never heard of that story before.
Khek vandy was Monique's boyfriend when they were in school, and they said that Khek Vandy is the biological father of Sihamoni , not king Sihanouk.
UNLESS they do DNA test ,and we'll know about who is the real father of the Cambodia King.
Noope, don't know anything about
that, but I will tried to find out
from Monique's fans to see if
they know anything about that.
Sounds so much like one of the
many Khmer Krom's telltales from
oversea to cause trouble in
Cambodia.
Hello Yuan 10:29 AM.
You lied and always lied.
You are Racist and trouble maker from Ho Chi Mienh.
Oh yeah, and what did I lied about?
Physically, King Sihamoni bears no ressemblance with king sihanouk.
He looks like Khek Vandy.
Wrong, his Majesty Sihamoni does
have some characteristics of
Somdach Euv.
Right of the bat, I can see Khek
Vandy have a lot of hair and the
King does not have nearly as much
hair as he does ...
gay person prefers bald - everything.
Who's gay?
Uncle Kek Vandy should volentarily retire from his post. If he can do so, it's a good signe for Cambodia whose top post official never dare to step down.
I think Kek Vandy will have enough to eat provided that he will not hanve an MP post anymore.
Poor old Vandy suffering from senile dementia combination with alzheimer disease. When you are going to retire from MP? You should be admitted yourself to Nursing home. you can't function any more due to your old impaired cognitive/computer brain cells crash.
guys. this old khek vandy has few young mistresses. i live not too far from him. srok khmer is the poorest b/c of those bunch of crook like him, ah hun k'vak, ...all of 'em.
ah-jey-t'leak-teuk
Noope, we are poor because srok
Khmer is infested with Ethiopian
racist liky you.
Hello every body,
I don't have any idea on these. What i want is just to ask all of cambodian in or outside country try to help the cambodia, not to criticise each other. If you continue like this no one can help our country.
Like what i heard that cambodian people like to talk not to work.
We can change our country to be in better situation.
heh try to do it not to talk
