Long Life Pol Pot! Down with Sihanouk!

Translated from French by Luc Sâr

“Long Life Pol Pot!”
“Down with Sihanouk!”
By N. Sihanouk

Beijing, December 29, 2006

I read, this afternoon, in a Phnom Penh French-language newspaper, an article about History where the communist Khmers, starting with Pol Pit, played a good role in Cambodia in the 50s and 60s, and whereas Norodom Sihanouk and his Regime were seriously competing with that of the (current) President Mugabe of Zimbabwe.

Reading this anti-Sihanouk article which recalls the most “admirable” articles of the like of Bernard Hamel, Charles Meyer, Father Ponchaud, Milton Osborne, Ben Kiernan (who was cited in that Friday article), a Belgian man [Raoul Jennar?] whom I forgot the name, I see that the communist Vietnamese and Chinese are more or less “harmed” as the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and the P.R. of China held “too” dearly the friendship between themselves and “my Cambodia,” and they did not give enough importance to the young (sic) Pol Pot. In Cambodia, it appears that I did not allow any Khmer [people], other than myself, to shine on the national and international scene, that my Police [force] martyred the communist Khmers (Non Suon, etc…) … and the Pol Pot communists, etc… were respectable Patriots who had noble ideals of social justice, democracy, etc…

It is good to know all that.

Long Life Pol Pot!

Down with Sihanouk!

(Signed) Norodom Sihanouk
