Two people were killed and three badly injured during four motorbike robbery attempts in Phnom Penh on Tuesday and Wednesday, police reported. A man was shot dead Tuesday afternoon in Chamkar Mon district by robbers who had to flee empty-handed after failing to start the victim's motorbike. Early Wednesday morning in the same district, a student was pistol-whipped and another shot in the back by robbers. That evening in Russei Keo district, a man was shot dead and his bike was stolen. Minutes later in Tuol Kok district, a student was robbed of her bike after being beaten by three armed robbers. Ouch Sokhon, Chamkar Mon district police chief, said that the two fatal shootings were likely committed by the same gunmen.
