An official with the Khmer Kampuchea Krom Human Rights Organization (KKHRO) in Cambodia expressed his doubt on the cause of death of a Khmer Krom monk, in particular on the claim that the monk committed suicide.
Ang Chanrithy, executive director of KKHRO, who is currently investigating this case, said on Friday. that there are many contentious points which make him think that the monk was assassinated. The killing coincided with Khmer Krom monks holding a demonstration in front of the Vietnamese embassy in Cambodia.
Ang Chanrithy said: “On his neck, there are 3 markings, according to the Master of Ceremony who placed the body. Another point is that the police authority did not study properly this case, for example, the monk died at 7:00 PM, and they took him to cremate at 2:00 AM without performing an autopsy. The day the monk died coincided with the day a demonstration was held in front of the Vietnamese embassy, and the killing also took place.”
The doubt and the start of the investigation by KKHRO took place after the death of Khmer Krom monk Eang Sok Thoeun at 7:00 PM on 27 Feb. The dead monk lived at the Tronum Chreung pagoda, Boeung Thom commune, Ang Snuol district, Kandal province.
On Friday, SRP MP Son Chhay issued a statement calling the authority to investigate thoroughly the cause of death. Son Chhay said that he is suspicious of the local newspapers’ claim that the Khmer Krom monk died of suicide.
Son Chhay said: “The newspaper publication claiming that the monk committed suicide does not make sense. Therefore, we are calling for a thorough investigation by the police authority, and that they issue a report so that the public knows about [the investigation results].”
RFA could not contact the police authority in Ang Snuol, nor the abbot of the pagoda, nor other government officials in the Kandal province.

normally, buddhish monk does not
commit suicide, but since Ah Khmer-
Yuon monk aint no buddhist, but
politician, he is well capable
of committing succide. Plus, he
threated earlier with self-
immolate ... . Therefore, there is
nothing to be doubted about. Just
flush the fake idiot's ashes down
the toilet and done with it.
Hey stupid ah animal hun sen stop ordering ur clans to kill innocent people. I hope one day you will die and go to hell. It is time for you to realize and understand if you want to change it.
Ah Youns in Cambodia are parasites in our lands and waters. Today's conflicts and Khmer sufferings are simply the cause of ah Yuons' atrocities again and agains. Yuons are the cancer in Khmer's body.
Youns in Kampuchea Krom are not enough, Yuons still want the remaing Cambodia.
Who said Religion and Nation are not related? Only ah doggy Tep Vong disagrees, because he is a Kbal Yuon Kluon Khmout and is a politican. He is no real monk!!!!Tep Vong is an imbedded-politician monk to control Khmer's religious institution. He is a monk that eats dog like ah Yuons.
Chiat-Saksna-Preah MahaKasat
Without Chiat Saksna roliel!!!
--How about Dalai Lama in Tibet?
--How about the former Pope John Paul and the fall of communism in Poland?
We need all Buddhist monks in all Khmer lands from Kampuchea Krom to Cambodia rising for the survival of Chiat Khmer, to rid of ah Yuons parasites that eating our Khmer's body.
Jey Yoh Chiat Khmer!!!
During the French's colonization they did not allow Cambodians to study the Khmer language, the only exception were the monks. Many Cambodians became monks to keep our scripture. Thank God that Buddhist monks were saved
from this restriction from the French, or else all traces of the Khmer language would be gone.
So what? The French still didn't
let any monk practice politic.
It's just rumor that TEP VONG did not even believe in buddhism, moreover he even order KUYTEAV PUOS KOR to eat at night , is it true?
Only idiots who can't think for
for themselves will feed on such
stupid roumor/s.
This is a true story about Tep Vong. One time as a head monk of a temple, Tep Vong was mad at an infant, he used a water nozzle's headset to beat up a young child. Blood was coming out all over that child's head. A friend of mine from Siam Reap told me.
Well, I don't see anything wrong
in delivering the infant from evil
with proper discipline. I am sure
he will grow up to be a winner, and
he will thanked Tep Vong for that.
