Some 200 students at the Chea Sim-Kompong Thmor have been forced by the school principal to provide their biography required to join the CPP party.
An anonymous teacher said that he have seen several CPP party adhesion forms being distributed to students who are 18 or older, for them to fill. The teacher expressed his displeasure with this situation.
The teacher said: “They gave forms to fill in the students’ biography to all those who are of voting age [18-year-old or above], that was when I was teaching in the classroom, I walked out, I am not pleased with this at all.”
Pen Bora, the school vice-principal, said that he is aware that students reaching 18-year-old must fill in their voting registration form, but that he was not aware that the students were told to register to join a political party.
Pen Bora said: “At 18, they have the right to vote. In the past, the students had to have their voting registration, but now they have to join a political party, I don’t know about that yet.”
Kul Panha, Comfrel executive director, said that each individual has the right to participate in politics as they please, however, if the individual is forced to join a party under threat of not being able to continue his study, or could lose his job, then it is against the rules of all political parties.
According to the election law, when a citizen reaches the age of 18, he can register to vote at the office of the Commune Election Committee (CEC).

Well I think is OK for them to join
CPP. May be I said maybe and hope
they become inner change later.
Because I believe change from inside is better then from outside.
I migh be wrong.
Bati
It would be OK for them to join the CPP voluntarily, but not through pressure, coercion and deceit that are the usual hallmarks of the CPP. One of the fine examples is by forcing the village people to drink the concocted holy water and make a do-or-die promise to vote for the CPP.
That's why Ah see pee pee one eye Hun Khvang still the leader until he is 99-year-old because of this stupid, idiot and shameful tactic.
