The National Election Committee (NEC) here on Monday launched a training session for electoral officials, representatives of political parties and NGOs attending the current commune councils election.
The training ranges from election organization, ballots counting to results calculation, said a press release from NEC.
"In order to obtain high appreciation of fairness from everyone, we, the electoral officials, have to be devoted to our task and have to rigorously implement neutrality, transparency and justice, " Chumteav Sin Chum Bo, vice chairperson of NEC, told the session.
The session will last three days and is attended by 266 participants, said the release.
Altogether 102,266 candidates from 12 political parties will compete in the 2007 commune councils election.
The election process started on Sept. 21, 2006, and will end on May 23, 2007. Final results will be published on April 1.
