SRP’s reaction to the pursue of its activist in Ratanakiri

28 April 2007
By Kem Sotheavin Radio Free Asia

Translated from Khmer by Heng Soy

The Sam Rainsy Party issued a statement on 27 April, to defend one of its political activists in Ratanakiri province who is now in hiding from the arrest threat by the authority.

Song Yim, a SRP activist who has just been election as the Pate commune chief, Ratanakiri province, is accused by the court of involvement with the traffic of Montagnard refugees.

The SRP statement refuted the provincial court accusation on its activist. The SRP statement indicated that Song Yim used to work as a Degar (Montagnard) language translator for the UNHCR in 2001 and 2002. The statement noted that the authority had made the same accusation against Song Yim once in 2003.

The statement called on the provincial court to review this accusation and to put to an immediate stop this arrest. There is no reaction yet from the authority on this statement by the SRP.

Enough with the excuses, just hand
over the fugitive.

What excuses, he's innocent.

Innocent my ass, If he was
innocent, they wouldn't have a
warrant for his arrest. Do you
think our court has the time to
joke around? Just hand the fugitive
over or they will trial him in
absentia like they did to other
fugitives.

Hi 8:07 !
Have you been in Khmer Rouge regime before ? and be a refugie in Thailand ? If yes! you should know what is the feeling of helping or being helped. If no! you must tell us what country or origin are you from ? because even CPP member do not talk your way.

Of course I was in the KR regime
cultivating our lands, building
and repairing huts, and what have
we along with the millions, Dan.
And like others, I also lost about
80% of family and relatives between
the KR regime and the B52 bombs.
Accordingly can you guess what area
of the country I am from?

And yes, I know the difference
between giving help and receiving
help, but how does that related to
being in the KR regime? I thought
all you have to do is to put 2
and 2 together.

And what make you think that all
CPP members talk the same way.
There are oppositions in the CPP
also, but we just don't let our
differences to keep us from helping
our citizens. That is all.

This is genuinely political oriented to bother opposition activist not be able to complete their task as well as to intimidate other activists...

One effective measurement is to sue the court of PP

post8:07 Have you been there? Is that why you said handover the fugitive? Stop assuming. Your See Pee Pee court is a joke. There is no independence in the court system in Cambodia. Stop threatening the opposition mother fucker. Put those assassins that killed the singers, the stars, newspaper editor, the opposition activists... in jail. Stop supporting Ah youn Communists.

I don't have to be anywhere, 11:22.
You got to be blind if you don't
see yourself contempt our court.
Our judge don't like that, and
that itself can be a separate
charge. If you are smart, talk the
fugitive to surender to the court
before they send people to get
him. Do you really think he can
hide? I bet I can find him within
2 weeks.
