Mounting student protests against a principal and his staff in Siem Reap province have led to the suspension several administrators.
More than 300 students and parents amassed Friday following days of smaller protests, calling for the censure of a Dom Dek High School principal whose staff allegedly locked a student in a room and beat him.
Authorities met with the group of students and parents Friday and resolved to suspend several school staff, which the group said was a satisfactory solution.
The student, Tan Sivone, 18, told VOA Khmer last month he had been attacked for refusing to stand in line in the hot sun, and instead chose to stand in the shade.

I am suporting your statement. The action of these students is just for a beggining. They learnt about their right and they have exercised their right. Good on them. We want more of our people to learn from these young kids who dare to defence their right. The people who have lost all their land and tehir properties should learn from these kids and shouldn't allowed all the evils to haunt on their lives. Areak Prey
We shoud look at what caused teacher to punish student. Is it about right violation or about inappropriate treatment in education? Is this a mistake of educational system or individuals in education system? Sure, it is time to think about this now.
