A report indicated that Keo Remy, who left the SRP a few days ago and went on to join Kem Sokha’s HRP, was nominated by the fledgling party as its party vice-president. Kem Sokha, the interim president of HRP, told The Cambodia Daily that Keo Remy is a person who deserves to occupy this position. Mrs. Mu Sochua, SRP Secretary-general, said that SRP proposed to the National Assembly (NA) to replace Keo Remy with Nou Sovath, the current party vice-president for Phnom Penh city. However, Nguon Nhel, first NA vice-president, said that this proposal to replace Keo Remy cannot take place immediately as the NA is going into a 3-month recess.

I thought HRP is supposed to be a democratic type political party in which all party top officials are nominated by party members at a general meeting. Do we have a party meeting yet? I don't think so... Please Mr. Kem, pratice what you preach... Please don't get me wrong, I live in the greatest democracy in the world. I have nothing against democracy loving ideas...

Like Kem Sokha, Keo Remy has made a big mistake with a man who has made a mis-calculation.Only the Party's name reflects the ignorance of the tricky leader.

This new party,HRP, is just to help the CPP to get win the 2008 election.

Keo Remy makes people very disappointed.

Please get the huge position and get no seat of the upcoming election.

We really don't want to see the politician like him.

Ah!

This is very reality comes in!!!

Normally opening an organization or party, it is necessary to have temporary committee. The committee then set out the "vision, mission," and the require structure to start implementing the by laws, internal procedures, etc. I thought SRP people would know this since after 12 years, they still haven't have meetings.

The suggestion here related to Keo Remy is "nomination". Be clear that you can't have election until you have members. You can't have members until you have some form of structures and leadership to seek such membership.

In this case, you need members to elect the steering committee would will elect these people being nominated. How do you select steering committee without members? How do you select members if you have not have vision and mission and what the party is? It's chicken and eggs and every organizatin therefore must start with some form of natural leadership with a vision.

In this case also, remember in a check and balance society, the cabinet of the executive are nominated by the leader of that branch. Should there needs to have an election of Secretary of State, anyone?

If the argument is HRP is not democratic due to the above mentioned comments, it's really terrible and again didn't show how SRP being democratic.

The usual tactic of destruction of others (and not the improvement of self) is too often used by SRP (through KI, FM93.5, Sralahn Khmer, Maneakseka)

Sam Rainsy has no character in this sense. Promise was made to not personally attack each other (HRP and SRP) but SRP repeatly broke this promise. How low will you go, Mr. Sam Rainsy? Who will trust you in the future?

In no way I have interest in HRP but I just hate to see this happening.

Btw, who is the vice-president of the SRP? Anyone?

Who are the previous many many short term vice-presidents of SRP?

Kem Sokha is a corrupt and the self-centered leader.

Wherever he works for or joins, it will be disappeared.

He is always a jumping frog!

Kim sokha and keo remy are jumping frogs. They go to where ever they benefit the most. If they care about the country, why not work with SRP. SRP is campaigning for our nation and our people to have a better life. Why form another party at this crucial time? All of sudden with 1 year left before the election, they formed another party right after hun sen let him out of jail. He should have form a political party 5 years ago to compete with cpp. If they really care about the country, they wouldn't form another party to split the votes.

I don't know about Kem Sokha, but I know that Sam Rainsy is a shameless person. He's jealous of everyone, and that's why Keo Remy can no longer stay in the party. Rainsy is always jealous of democratic activists who become popular. No offense, but I honestly think that Sam Rainsy is such a shameless person. Sorry to the people who operate KI... I know Sam Rainsy is your relative, but I just want to express my opinion. So don't get angry.
