Duch to be transferred to KR Tribunal jail

A report indicated that Duch, aka Kaing Kek Iev, the former director of the Khmer Rouge jail (S-21) who is currently incarcerated in the military prison in Phnom Penh since 1999, will be transferred to the ECCC also known as the KR Tribunal. Lieutenant Colonel Un Sophal of the military court prosecution department told The Cambodia Daily that he already prepared the documents for the transfer of Duch to the ECCC, Marcel Lemonde, the co-investigation judge said on Sunday that he cannot comment on when Duch will be transferred to the ECCC. He said: “You will find out soon.”
