Judicial officials from the ECCC (or KR Tribunal, KRT) from both the international and the Cambodian sides, have declared in the past that, only a few of the former Democratic Kampuchea regime (KR regime) leaders will be called in by the court for judgment regarding their criminal involvements with the events taking place between 1975 to 1978.
Recently, a Cambodian organization asked that the former monarch, King Norodom Sihanouk, shows up at the KRT to act as a witness regarding the events which led to the death of almost 2 million of Cambodian people.
The Cambodian organization which is based in the USA, based its demand on a truthful fact that the former monarch used to be the President of the Democratic Kampuchea regime, albeit a short-lived presidential position, before he and his wife were detained in the royal palace, and prevented from going anywhere.
A number of law experts believe that the monarch is an important witness because of his past role, and he was himself a victim.
The foreign-based organization wants to see the National Assembly removes the immunity of the former monarch. Is such request in agreement with any [Cambodian] power holders?
The former monarch is absolutely protected by the current Cambodian Constitution as well. Furthermore, the royal decree dated 29 October 2004 stipulated the title and the prerogatives of the former monarch and his wife, that is the former monarch is considered as an absolutely inviolable institution, just like when he was still occupying the throne, and this is so because of the motto (adopted by Cambodia): Nation, Religion, King.
On Tuesday, prime minister Hun Sen made a declaration to all Cambodian people who want to see the former monarch shown up at the KRT, by saying: “There is a savage demand, made by a group of people, to lift the immunity of our King-Father, Preah Karuna Preah Bat Norodom Sihanouk. This is an attempt to set the fire one more time.”
On 23 August, during a speech given on the occasion of a gift distribution, the former monarch highly praised the current leader of the country (Hun Sen).
In his speech, Samdech Sihanouk said: “The CPP, with Samdach Hun Sen as its famous and very clever leader, along with Lok Chumteav Thom Bun Rany Hun Sen, they worked hard, day and night, to defend the nation, to build the nation, to serve the people, our people, very well.”
How about himself, what opinion does the former monarch have about himself?
In a statement issued from Beijing and reported by BBC on Monday 04 January 199, former monarch Norodom Sihanouk said that "Even if the judges of this tribunal do not summon me, I will present myself before this tribunal," and that he would act as his own lawyer, and he would accept any decision of the court even he was sent to prison.

In Cambodian Royal Custom: The King should be proved of 10 kinds of truthfull ( Tuospit ) and very kind ( Reach Thor ). He must not lie and talk nonsense. Therefore, he must has a high degree of integrity. As he has involved without any dispute with Khmer Rouge from 1970-1979, he must be brave to stand up and declare to the Nation for what happening from 1970-1979. He was a killer or he was a victim doesn't matter, but he must tell the Nation truthfully. He shouldn't get angry with Suon Serey Ratha at. Now we have at least 5 millions people who are the same like Suon Serey Ratha. We live in a global world with full freedom and free speeches. we cannot accept language like Animal Hun Sen who has violated the constitutional already for trying to obstruct justice for all the victims. Why we spend US$ 56 millions for a tribunal? Is it just to jail Duch who was just a prison guard? We want to full picture. Cambodia has so many faked Doctor degrees Like Hun Sen, Sok An, Mong Rithy, Heng Samrin etc.. and etc.., Their degree can only shame the Nation but cannot help to improve Cambodian justice System. Suon Serey Ratha just wants to fulfill his duty of Cambodian citizen only. Please do not look down on him. He will have a woderfull life in the USA
This is once again how compatriot cambodian being displayed as enemy to one another.In the last three decades history repeats itself,khmer rouge has been portrayed as khmer killer.Innocent intellectuals have been scapgoated and killed.Khmers have lived through upsidedown periods.Please compatriot khmer re evaluate yourself of who and what you are and be sensible.Being wealthy,rich and wellknown is only short lived,your land,your race, your culture will die out because khmer have been lured to commit wrong acts,abusing khmer by power you were never born with,abuses our kids who turn prostitution by poverty and despair.This is not buddhism that khmer claims to be one.Five percepts of Buddhism is respect for other human rights.Please stop abusing khmer,khmer rouge killed khmer by mistake or at will have found no place to be in good history.Thus all parties should look at having more intellect(brain) than being rich(braun).I hope that our king see this abuse era and turn it to be peacefull one for cambodian good history.

Cambodia's had cancers that were embedded into her by China+YUONS+Vietminh-CPP-Hun Sen+all royal's crooks through traitor Sihanouk's flesh and blood, also through his YUON's wife Monique and Sihanouk’s clique.
To have a true and lasting peace for Cambodia these cancers have to be removed once for all, either by the law of ECCC-KRT or by any means, as long as the majority agree with.
If these cancers remain inside Cambodia without proper treatments YUONS will continue to swallow us bit by bit every day and China will gobble the whole region without mercy toward Cambodia land and all Khmer people, with the last assistance of NORODOM SIHANOUK-HUN SEN.

So many of my family have died during that regime. Now, these Khmer Rouge leaders are getting rich off the land that my ancestors lies.
Sihanouk should come clean and confessed everything.
Thank KI, this article is very important, and remember on 1-19-04 the former monarch King Norodom Sihanouk replied to Chhang Song and broadcast by RFA that he provided only the medicine to Vietcong . And between 1975 to 1979 he was not a Cambodian's king and now he is not a king any more why and why some people said that the constitution is still good for him? it's over now. The protection only for the king not for averybody please read the constitution. The democracy is not likes that.
The ideology behind the communist doctrine require that the state can not have King and Queen because King and Queen are seen as leech and oppressor who are living off the poor working people! The communist doctrine favors the poor working class than anyone else!
I will use the Soviet Union which is the birth place of communism to prove my point! When the communist Bolshevik came to power in Russia in 1917 and the first thing they did was to execute all the Royal families!
So for those Cambodian people who kept saying the Khmer Rouge led by Mr. POL POT want to share power with King Sihanouk to kill Cambodian people is so absurd!
I wonder how the fuck these Cambodian people come to that conclusion.
"The Cambodians are not brave" said a British diplomat some time ago. This comment 50% true. When it come to using swords and guns to abuse the weak and the powerless, the Cambodians, especially those who are empowered with authority, are absolutely brave. BUT when it comes to using reasons and intellect to fight with their opponents, these very same people, (esp. our leaders) are proving themselves to be absolute cowards. Former King Norodom Sihanouk is the personification of them all. The definition of a coward is any human who makes only brave talks but do not act on them. (You have to talk the talk and walk the walk)

The Cambodia cancer it is in the fourth stages ,it doesn't matter if you want to keep this king or not? do you see king Seihakmony,king Seihaknouk,prince Noranorith do anything to help with Youn's land incraochment,child sex abuses,human trafficking, human right,drugs trafficking ,forest defrosting and land crabbing only help Hun Sen to suffer Cambodian PPL, At least they open their mouth for their sympathize of their poor PPL but they are not,so the solution is tomorrow if we are losing the land to youn,
today ,Seihaknok has to tell us the truth of his involvement with khmer rouge and youn, or the History will condemning him as king coward ,gutless king,and his soul never rest in peace.
Samdach Hun Sen treats you bastards like animals because you deserve it.
