Cambodia's PM: tribunal judge will remain
Cambodia's prime minister Hun Sen says a key judge on the UN-backed genocide tribunal would not leave the bench, despite his appointment to serve on the nation's appeals court.
The government had earlier said You Bunleng, one of the investigating judges for the tribunal, had been given a new post as head of the appeals court.
The United Nations voiced concern this transfer would hold up efforts to prosecute Khmer Rouge leaders.
Hun Sen now says the judge will hold both posts simultaneously.
He says nothing will block the process of the trials.

It would be wiser for our Prime Minister Hun Sen to remain silent over judicial matters. Otherwise he would be accused of interference into these matters and control over the judiciary, which violates the separation of powers and the independence of the judiciary. Such interference is very much unconstitutional.
