Koh Santepheap newspaper
Translated from Khmer by Socheata
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) police indicated that the group of terrorists which mixed TNT powder with fertilizer to destroy the memorial monument for the volunteer Vietnamese army, on Sunday morning, has not been arrested yet, and that the police is still searching for their identities. At the same time, the Daun Penh district security force, in cooperation with the Phnom Penh city police, are protecting this monument 24/7, and at night time, there are more restrictions imposed on people walking across the monument.
6 witnesses who knew somewhat (what’s going on) prior to the explosion at the monument were questioned at the Chaktokmouk police station, but they were all released. An official from the Daun Penh district office said that in the morning of 30 July 2007, the district office ordered 12 security officers from the district to stand guard 24/7 at the monument, in cooperation with the Phnom Penh police.
Kep Chuktema, the Phnom Penh city governor, issued strict order to the city police and military police forces, and the 7 district governors, to pay attention and to provide even more protection to the security and safety in their local areas, in order to protect the security and safety of dweller in the Phnom Penh city. During a monthly meeting at the city hall in the morning of 30 July 2007, Kep Chuktema reminded that on Sunday 29 July, “our enemies” attempted to set up explosive at the memorial monument for the volunteer Vietnamese army, located in front Wat Botum pagoda, in Daun Penh district, in order to trip the Cambodian government, but they did not succeed.
Kep Chuktema also said that the district governors are not allowed to leave their localities, and that they should follow the good example set by prime minister Hun Sen who never dare go anywhere, even on a Sunday, and when the incident took place, he immediately ordered the fight against such action. Therefore, district governors, police and military police officers must follow the example set by Hun Sen, and they should not be concerned about Saturdays or Sundays, even though everybody wants to get some rest. From now on, all district governors, department directors, before going anywhere, they must ask their permissions in writing and send this request to the city for approval. Kep Chuktema said that the city does not prevent a rest on Saturdays and Sundays, but they should not take a rest every single week.
Kep Chuktema warned that from now, there will no longer be Saturdays and Sundays off for district governors, and as representatives of the authority, they should be ready at all time, and that if they want their Saturdays and Sundays off, they should work elsewhere. This is a noticeable order (indeed!).
The hunt for the suspects
According to various sources on information which the police still keep secret, it was learnt that the hunt for the identity of the suspects took place since the evening of 29 July and it continued on until 30 July. However, an official close to the hunt indicated that, regarding the name of suspect, a number the documents have been gathered, but the authority is not sure yet about his identification. Nevertheless, the official involved indicated that the search is already 70% completed.

I am Hun Sen I do every thing to scarify my master ,with out them (yuon) I can't be what I am now, common I do not take any damn if I get criticize that money for the guards that protect that Cambodia and Viet nam friend ship that not my parent money ,just cut the tree or selling the drugs I get it back,I Hun Sen have to stay in power for two hundred years,I am the best.
If they had also guarded Cambodian borders 24/7 we would not have lost much of our territory to our neighbours.
My dear monkey officials, please protect our concrete border markers 24/7, not this useless concrete monument.
The ruling government does not care as Angkor is destroyed by Sok Kong Asura authority day in and day out.
Who cares if this crappy monument blown away?
I don't believe for a moment that the Vietcong monument stands for the so called "Vietcong Volunteer army" because the Vietcong threw all their army divisions against the Khmer Rouge around 150,000 Vietcong army to invade Cambodia!
Here are some questions to think about!
Who help the Khmer Rouge came to power in Cambodia?
Answer-Thank to the Vietcong for helping arm the Khmer Rouge and decimating the Lon Nol army!
Who save the 2 million Cambodian people who died during the Khmer Rouge?
Answer- Not the Vietcong! The Vietcong just want to take advantage of the Killing Field!
Why did the Vietcong decided to invade Cambodia?
Answer-The Khmer Rouge kept attacking the Vietcong for violating Cambodian sovereignty! The Vietcong just want to save their ass!
Who deny international aids from reach Cambodian people right after the Vietcong invasion for 2 years?
Answer- It is the Vietcong who deny the flow of international aids to Cambodian people and more Cambodian people were dying of starvation!
Why did the Vietcong decided to occupy Cambodia for 10 years?
Answer- The Vietcong just want to take advantage of the Killing Field and take ownership of Cambodia and make Cambodian people as their slave for 25 years!
On and on …
By the way nobody invite the Vietcong to come to Cambodia to save Cambodian people anyway! All the Khmer Rouge is borne out of Indochinese Communist Party (ICP) led by Uncle Ho! Who would have known that these hardcore communist would turn around and attack each other like animal and chose Cambodian people as their victim! Like they said that in time of war, it is the people who are suffered the most! Now you know why the Vietcong chose not to negotiate for peace and stability of Cambodia right after the invasion and these fucken Vietcong would rather drag on the fucken war for another 10 years to make Cambodian people suffer even more! The real wish of the Vietcong is stay in Cambodia for 25 years and the Vietcong leaders had said that situation in Cambodia is irreversible!
So the fucken Vietcong monument is a trophy, a reminder, and a dedication to all the Vietcong achievement in conquering over Cambodia! Now you know why the Vietcong love to call the Cambodian capitol (Phnom Phen) as Nam Vang to remind all the fucken Vietcong new generation that Phnom Phen used to belong to them!Nam Vang is the name of the Vietcong general who succeeds in capturing the city of Phom Phen!
When it comes down to Vietnam, the CPPs are fulfilling their causes with great efforts. Why are you so stupid?
AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave would rather protect this eyesore Vietcong monument than his life? Smart move by AH HUN SEN because the Vietcong will kill him if this bastard didn't protect the Vietcong monumnet!
