Southwestern border gate to get fresh start
VNA (Hanoi)
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung is adamant that the Moc Bai border gate economic zone (EZ) in the southwestern province of Tay Ninh that borders Cambodia should be turned into an international trade centre.
In his decision signed on August 24, the project will include an industrial trading area that will be given duty free status and enterprises operating in the industrial trading area will be permitted to engage in import-export businesses.
The new decision will also follow the exemption of tariffs and value-added taxes for the areas’ imported goods and services while its exports will also enjoy similar incentives, namely tariff exemptions and 0% VAT.
Commodities and services subject to special consumption taxes will also be exempt from this category of taxes if they are produced and traded in or exported from the Moc Bai border gate economic zone’s industrial trading area.
Enterprises, which open investment, production, businesses and services in the industrial trading area, will also be exempt from corporate taxes for four years.

Why so close to Cambodian border?
This is to show how desperate the Vietcong government wants more Cambodian businesses to export their dirt cheap raw materials to the Vietcong factories!
