Cambodia's Siem Reap hosts Indonesian tourism, trade fair

An Indonesia Trade and Tourism Promotion Fair has opened in Siem Reap province, reported Cambodian-language newspaper the Koh Santepheap on Friday.

The fair reflects friendly relations and cooperation between Cambodia and Indonesia, especially in the tourism and trade sectors, said Provincial Governor Sou Phirin at the opening ceremony Thursday.

Sou Phirin said the event was an opportunity for people from the two countries to exchange goods and food stuffs.

Cambodia and Indonesia have a history of good relations and have enjoyed long-lasting solidarity and friendship, said Phirin, adding the government has approved new ties between Siem Reap and Central Java on regional administration ties including economy, society, culture, tourism, education, sports and education.
