Prince Norodom Ranariddh, NRP President, reacted against the speech given by Prime minister Hun Sen who said in Stung Trang district that the prince was merely a recording scribe of Samdech Norodom Sihanouk during the peace negotiation in France, but that the prince wants to nominate himself as the Father of National Unification instead.

Responding to Hun Sen’s speech, the prince said that he actively participated in the resolutions during the political stalemates following the 1993, 1998 and 2003 elections. The prince’s response was issued in a statement distributed by the NRP on 03 December 2007 which was published in the Kampuchea Thmei newspaper.

In this statement, Prince Ranariddh said that, following the general election in 1993, in order to avoid political problems and the land secession threat, he was willing to part half of his power to the CPP. Through this, the prince wants to show that he did a good deed towards the CPP as he was willing to share half of his power to the CPP.

Om Yin Tieng, Hun Sen’s spokesman, told the Kampuchea Thmei that the prince’s statement it nothing more than that of a stuck prince. Om Yin Tieng said: “I believe that if the power the CPP detains came from Prince Ranariddh’s charity, why didn’t he keep the power to use for himself? Why did he give power to others, and ended having no power for himself?”

Om Yen Tieng told the Kampuchea Thmei that the person who claims that he gave power to others, turned out to be a power beggar instead, and this does not look right. This is tantamount of a beggar claiming that he gave alms to all others. Om Yen tieng said that at this point in time, the population understands highly the situation, they are not dumb enough to let others cheat them anymore. Therefore, the prince’s words shows that he is stuck, and he has nowhere else to go.

Another anonymous high-ranking NRP official told the Kampuchea Thmei that, from now one, the prince will issue documents attacking the government without restraint anymore. The same official said that the documents prepared for attacking Hun Sen in the future, will consists of documents dating from 1993, during the first government mandate, to 2007, the current third government mandate.

The country does not either one. They both are as evil as the other. They teamed up in the past 10 years and what are the results? The country lost more land to Vietnam. The Hun Sen’s entourages get richer and the poorer are poorer.

A major clean up to eliminate not just the two but the clans of this current government are needed. Even SRP is also weak. Some inside the CPP who had been stepped on because of the nationalist ideology were suppressed. Those are the team that shall come out the take action. The country cannot just look and talk. There must be action.

I don’t believe that up to date, these people in the Hun Sen’s team did not learn from the Pol Pot’s regime.

Poor Rannarith, he is getting what he deserved for betraying his supporters the moment he got himself into the gov't post. Married with the devils and that is his end results. You are practically finished from politics, my Price. I suggest, he return back to teaching in France or stay at a monastery for good.
