CPP-USA celebrates 07 January

The CPP office branch in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, plans to celebrate the 07 January (invasion and occupation of Cambodia by Vietnam), in the evening of 05 January 2008 (US time) with the participation of Cambodian officials at the UN and several other party supporters coming from various US states.

Has Bora, the secretary-general of the CPP-Philadelphia office, announced the reason for this celebration, saying that: “On this day, the CPP branch office on Philadelphia organizes the 29th anniversary celebration (of the Vietnamese army’s more than one decade-long occupation of Cambodia, and its installation of the CPP puppet regime) which provided a new life to all of us, and this is the day that the (so-called) nationalists (working as puppets of the Vietnamese army) chased out the genocidal regime. Therefore, we celebrate this event to thanks our (Vietnamese) heroes who dedicated their lives to save the lives of Cambodians.”

The 07 January celebration will take place 2 days prior to the CPP celebration in Phnom Penh which will take place on 07 January 2008.

The ruling CPP party which supports the celebration of the 07 January, considers it as the day for the toppling of the Khmer Rouge regime in 1979, and the CPP considers this day as a day providing it with a new birth out of the KR killing.

However, other political parties consider 07 January as a day of Vietnamese aggression (and more than decade long occupation) of Cambodia.

It very shameful to see our compatriots in the US to honor the day that our national sovereignty, integrity, and independence has been lost until today. It is a mental and spiritual blindness to regard this day as your second birthday.

Is 7 January day useful for Khmers?

We all have perceived that 7 January day is useful for Cambodian People Party (CPP) only. Kiev Kannaridh has also reaffirmed that this day for holiday also recognizes the killing field in Vietnam by Khmer Rouge soldiers as well.

How about its significance and useful for Cambodians?
The answer is NO, NOT AT ALL ----it is useless for Cambodian nation and her peoples.

Because it is just a bitter day reminding the day that Khmer divided with Khmers, Khmers hated Khmers, Khmer retaliated/revenged Khmers, and Khmers murdered/frightened Khmers.

--- it is the day that the stage for Khmer future, their nation and politics have received only the DAMNATION, and LOSING to foreigner----

But it is fortunate for Khmers that we have had 23 October 1991 that has provided potential to Khmers to having love and forgiveness to each others, and stand up firmly to protest all foreigner aggression/imperialism/expansionism---

Personally, I have no specific political affiliation, I am frankly assuring that:
---Whoever recognize 7 January as the holiday or whatever, are the persons who are endorsing the culture of Khmer hates Khmer, Khmer revenges Khmer, Khmer divides Khmer, and they are serving foreigner only----

----Whoever, recognize 23 October as the holiday or whatever, are the persons who are endorsing the culture of Khmer loves Khmer, Khmer forgives Khmer, Khmer unites Khmer, and Khmers can protect themselves from all foreign invasions, especially Khmers can bolster democracy, human rights respect, and advancement like other civilized countries in the world.

Spratly Islands and Koh Tral

The Spratly islands are 800km from Ho Chi Minh City, 1300km from Hong Kong. This archipelago comprised of more than 600 smalls rocks and corral reefs located in the South China Sea. It is hotly in dispute between China and Vietnam which both staked claims to the islands. Lately in 08 December, 2007 Vietnamese organised a demontration protest in front of the Chinese embassy in Hanoi and in Ho Chi Minh City. They rallied by shouted slogans against China to "stop invading" their territory.

When this news first came out I didn't have time to write it right away for I was extremely busy helping my mother at the village. Nevertheless, the high tension on high sea between China and Vietnam is still there; hence, it really piqued my interest in region of South China Sea even more. I then began to think the issue in parallel to my Camobodia's Koh Tral island.
Separately in comparison to the incident with the Spratly islands, Cambodia's biggest Koh Tral island is so close to our coastline. It is just 15km from Kampot province. Koh Tral sits right in Cambodia waters. Each time of day when the wind clears away the fog, we can see peaks of our Koh Tral from our coastline Kep or from Mount Bokor in Kampot province.
Yet, the distance of Koh Tral to Vietnam is 3 times more than it is to Cambodia. It's 45km to the closest southern tip Ha Tien province of Vietnam.
Vietnam took our island as 'under their administration'. Vietnam has the tendency to eliminate any trace of Cambodian origin, so they changed the original name Koh Tral to Phu Quoc . The term that the island is 'under Vietnamese administration' are just flowery words to cover up from the international community. I know at the present day there is no direct access to Koh Tral from our Cambodia side. Our Khmer fishermen will be arrested or shot by Vietnamese soldiers if we're straying in waters closer to the island.

So when the Vietnamese shouted to China "stop invading" on the Spratly islands, I was wondering if those demonstrators have any conscience of what they or their government did to our Cambodia Koh Tral island.

To me, Koh Tral is always ours. I am so sad for the lost of this island at this present time. As Vietnam always claimed they are friends of Cambodia. Friends don't take personal properties from one another. So I hope one day and soon, Vietnam would relinquish Koh Tral administration duty and hand it back to us wholeheartedly.
Vanak.

The Vietcong would never dare invade Cambodia on January 7th 1979 and the so called the day of the Vietcong liberation of Cambodia from the Killing Field! It is a fact that the Vietcong leaders were asking the Soviet Unions for full support and signed a 25 years friendship as an insurance policy with the Soviet Union to protect the Vietcong aggression from China and others super powers!

If the Vietcong leaders want to liberate Cambodia and why do they need to ask the Soviet Union leaders for permission? Now all of you stupid Cambodian people understand the true meaning of the Vietcong liberation of Cambodia! And what kind of Vietcong liberation is this when more than 2 million Cambodian people are death anyway?

Please just remember that the Vietcong words are never equal to the Vietcong actions! The Vietcong love to lie to make them look good because of their superego! But most educated Cambodian people already knew that the Vietcong aren't interested in liberating anyone and that is why they still oppress more than 10 million Khmer people in Khmer Kampuchea Krom!

Many good Cambodian with good education had left Philadelphia a long time ago. Only many of those that like to depend on welfare program and work under the table remain. So the ignorant can travel all the way from Cambodia to the states. What a shame!

Hopefully, a few good one that still find some desent work, also find education, read the news and won't fall trap into this mess.

The problem is mr. ambassador from Cambodia under mr. hun sen govn. is in Washington DC. That makes it really hard. When this news comes out and hear some of our people are saying they like the idea, because this and that. It's just sick news.

You think only people in Cambodia are a fool, but in the states too?

Cambodian government officials are being blind by powered and greed. It is sad that think it's worth the trade off to do such a thing. We don't live for the moment of power and money; only the short sighted would do that. Kol Peng is one of the politicians I begin to lose trust. How do you tell the people you had met before?

January is not a cause of celebration if you are Khmer and see the bigger picture of regional politics. Cambodia is struggling to stand on its two feet just to survive by its mostly incompetent government. Vietnamese invaded Cambodia on 7, January, 1979 is not to save Cambodia from Khmer Rouge killing. If it was for the Vietnamese's salvation they would not stayed in Cambodia until the U.N spent years to get them out; otherwise you would see the Vietnamese still in Cambodia today. Thanks to the U.N!

For those who put their heart and soul to believe the CPP is Cambodia and your children's future, I urge you think again with all the information available. Let's not make an huge mistake into doing something you later regret you did not do.

The different between October 23 1991 Paris Agreement and the January 7 1979 Vietcong liberation of Cambodia!

The Paris Agreement 1991 ended all conflict and bring true peace to Cambodia more or less and make democratic election possible and the flow of aid from international communist to help rebuild Cambodia!

The Vietcong liberation on January 7 1979 force Cambodia to remain isolated from international community for 10 years and follow with never ending civil war and the Vietcong occupation!

Those Cambodian people who claimed that they were save by January 7, 1979 will find themselves risking their life by escaping to United Nations refugee camps along Thaicong-Cambodian border or getting kill by joining AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave army to fight the civil war, the starvation, the Vietcong enslavement...

By the way thank to the Vietcong liberation of Cambodia on January 7, 1979 and Cambodia has the most landmine in the world which still continue to claim innocence dirt poor Cambodian people life everyday!
