An illegal fishing boat that's been docked in Hobart for more than two years has cost the Australian Fisheries Management Authority around $68 per day in rent.
The Cambodian registered 'FV Taruman' was seized between Macquarie Island and Tasmania in September 2005.
The Australian Fisheries Management Authority says the Taruman is currently up for tender for a second time to be sold for parts and scrap metal, or in its entirety, after an initial buyer fell through.
Spokesman, Nigel Catchlove, says the tender closes this Friday and a sale will hopefully reimburse the Authority for the money it has paid in rent.
"It has cost a fair bit of money because it's been there for a long time," he said.
"But recouping that is only one little factor that we consider, it's really the best value for money for the Commonwealth that will determine the outcome of the tender."

Well, we don't have to go to war for that, but it just plain unfair for those rich countries to detain poor people's ship for years just for trespassing and then want to charge them for rent at an outrageous price.
And I hope the will hear something from God soon about their kindness.
