Translated from Khmer by Socheata

In response to the speech given by Hun Sen in which he warned all political parties, in particular the Sam Rainsy Party, from using the People Power after the election, opposition leader Sam Rainsy declared that he will call on the People Power if the results of the election will be cheated. Sam Rainsy told VOA on Thursday: “If the people’s will is trampled and cheated during an unfair election, we must push for the use of the People Power.” Sam Rainsy said that only the dictators are afraid of the People Power, but the democrats do not fear the People Power. In 1998, Sam Rainsy led a massive demonstration to oppose the results of the election in which the CPP won the first place.

People power has topled two leaders in the Philippines. It has not solved the problem of corruption, extra-judicial killings, poverty, etc... Power has been highjacked by other leaders who, like their predecessors, serve, promote and protect their own interests. People continue to suffer.

That is right, Dr Lao, We all want perfection for our country, but that day will never come, no matter how much blood we shed.

There's no such thing as "perfect or flawess" system; every system in the world has its flaw. The United States of America, for instance, yet bear a lot of scandals. In fact, I do not need to further elaberate myself -- but look no further -- however, now -- turn your attention to the recent incident involving sex scandal right in the middle of the sleepless city, of course, New York City. Again, in a modern society does come with copious of moral turpitude. For the sake of Marry, Joseph and Jesus, this is Cambodia, so does the rest of Asian countries ... you cannot expect us to have flawless system; however, we'll strife, to the best of our ability, to aim for perfection.

"PEOPLE POWER" or "FREE & FAIR ELECTION" that Hun Xen has to choose from.

Yeah, and the only choices you got in the Vietcong shit pit is "Shits" or "Maggots".

Dr. Lao,
Your comment severed the afford of democratic movements in Cambodia. Indeed, no country is immune from corruption-free society let alone the super power like the US.In the phillipine, people power had impeded and recalled the removal of their presidents to resign and court marshal over abuses of powers, e.g Estrada and Aquino, and the recent uprising demanding resignation of president Arroyo over the family corruption deals with the Chinese that was impossible with former F. Marcos' regime in the 80's. There is no picture-perfect in any regime, however democracy empowers people the rights of freedom to choice their voices. I am very discontent of you sideline your voice oversea instead be more involve and active in Cambodia. Your education, experience, and vision can help our motherland well.

Democratic movement? in Cambodia? Are you for real, 5:22. Unlike Phillipine, most people, in Cambodia don't even know what the word "Democratic" mean. They probably think "Democratic Kampuchea", so what "People Power" are you talking about? Who would want to bring "Democratic Kampuchea" back?

The problem with SRP is they are living in a dream land. They forgot that they are only represent a small minority, and they will get people kill because they failed to distinct between "People Power" and "Virtual People Power". But then again I won't be surprise about it either, given the that we have too many overconfident monkeys around.

Dr. Lao, your comments make sense, but what is your solution? Let a corrupt and ruthless tyrant to continue to destroy Cambodia forever? corruption will still exist after Hun Sen but it will be less. No country, not even America, can eliminate corruption. But they can bring it down to a minimum level. Hun Sen has no will to do so.

6:59, corruption isn't that bad here. How do you measure corruption? Don't tell me by ranking as Transparent international did. Just because we score near bottom it doesn't say much: 1) all it say is we don't put in enough money to fight corruption or we don't have enough for it. 2) when you have people competing someone alway be first and someone alway be last. For instant, if 200 people taking an exam to enter a university and the best grade is 90.0% (because no one is perfect) and the worse grade is 65.0%. Do you really think the person who score a 65.0% is retarded?

Look, I don't mine see people dying for a true worthy cause, but not for something that is not fully understood. get it?

The only solution to get rid off Hun Sen and CPP is to topple them and the only ammunition we have are the Khmer people. If they don't stand up like other countries, they won't find their liberty and free of democracy. Only people can topple Hun Sen. We don't have any other means to win this guy. We need to bring him down for good as we did to Sihanouk.

I am 100% support Mr. Sam Rainsy idea. He now has enough with Hun Sen. Mr. Sam Rainsy! Please gather and inform people to stand up with you and to unite to bring down Hun Sen.

The Vietnamese and the Thais probably are happy to see us fighting each other and our country drifts further into destitution. But what else for the poor to do, when they are being pushed to the corner and have nothing else to lose?

Freedom of speech?! You have no clue what "freedom of speech" is, although you're living in the U.S., presumably. However, in the aftermath of sept. 11 terror attacks on the U.S. soil, I'd be hard-pressed if you and the rest of your spacies can freely express freedom of speech without fear of reprisal or repercussive action that will be brought against your sorry asses. Therefore, you and the rest of your retarded species have no clue what freedom of speech is 'til your Western friends throw your asses in jail, or better yet, repatriate your asses to the Prey Sar prison. Now, go and finish your Western movies, you fucking retarded.

Guys, Speech is one thing. The idea behind the Speech is another. We are not against any speech, but we are against a few idea behind the speech.

Freedom of speech does have its limitations; also, freedom of speech can be a double-edged swords. Therefore, be wary what you say and how you say it -- if you're in the United States -- particularly in the aftermath of sept. 11 terror attacks on the U.S. soil.

In fact, per me ... I believe in freedom of responsibility -- not freedom of speech, at least in part, I could say practically everything in the pre-9/11 (not post-9/11). Again, if I'm in the U.S., I need to exercise my freedom of speech gingerly. As for the gorillas --due to intellectual incapacity -- they're too stupid to understand what constitutes freedom of speech.

We are keenly aware of the freedom of speech. We do not need you or any else to ponificate us on the freedom. In other words, we're not oblivious of our responsibility of our speech.

That right, and don't forget Article 31 of the constitution does give us the freedom and right only to the extend it doesn't adversely affecting freedom and right of others.

In other words, you are responsible for what you said and done. If you affecting other people freedom and right, you will be subjected to a lawsuit and prosecution for it.
