On 06 May, an official of the National Election Committee (NEC) said that any political party which hold election campaigns that are violating the rule and the election campaign legal procedures, will be fined between 5 to 10 million riels ($1,250 to $2,500). Tep Nytha, NEC secretary-general, said that if, (say) on 26 July, the day where it is prohibited to hold an election campaign, and a party or a candidate still hold a campaign on that date, the Commune Election Committee (CEC) or the Provincial Election Committee (PEC) which sees the campaigning by itself, can prevent and issue a written or verbal warning. Tep Nytha added that, in the case, the campaigning party or candidate refuse to follow the order, the CEC or PEC will decide (1) revoke the right to vote, (2) remove the candidacy of the candidate involved, or (3) issue a fine between 5 and 10 million riels.

violation of election regulation, rules, law and what have you should be strictly enforced and should not be tolerate a bit. a stiff penalty ought to be placed on anyone group or party found to be in this kind of violatiion, period! cambodian people had suffered long enough already and people appointed an official to represent them and no one should cheated them for such cruel dispecable act. enough already! thank you.
