A former US ambassador to the United Nations, Sichan Siv, says he is very pleased by the positive reaction from Americans as he travels around the country to promote his autobiography.
"Since the book was published on July 1, I have traveled from the West Coast to the East Coast and to many places in between," the former ambassador told VOA Khmer in Washington last week. "And the reaction from the people has been very good."
Sichan Siv's "Golden Bones," an autobiography describing his life in Cambodia and journey to America. In the book, he describes his journey from the jungles of Cambodia to the halls of the White House.
Americans from all professions, waiters, doctors, politicians and others, not only understand the important message in his book, which is hope, but they also believe in it, he said.
"As human beings we must have hope," he said. "My mother used to tell me when I was younger that no matter what the situation you're in, you must not give up hope."
Sichan Siv said he wanted the world to know about his ordeal. A number of foreign publishers have already expressed interest in translating his book into foreign languages, he said.

His book "Golden Bones" is good also bad because his book did not show his point of view of Cambodia today and his vision for Cambodia in future, and how the next generation of Cambodians must to act for a bright development of Cambodia.
His book seems for his interest to show the individual biography but not really the interest for Cambodia society.
I haven't read the book. But I am sure that there are people who can link themselves to the Cambodia dark past taking this advantage to sell their books without even having full knowledge of Cambodia in the past and now.

Do you remember us when we were monk in srok siem? Years a go I met you in Khmer's temple in state Maryland and I did say hi to you but the way you responded back seems that you don't remember me.We live in Richmon Virginia now and you could come and see us may be I can prepare some food for you because I never forgot when we were poor. I did say that because we are Khmer unless you are not Khmer any more.
Mr. Siv, I would be appreciate if you tell the truth about yourself for using Ambassador Title. Why you are deceiving people. You were a US representative to the UN not a US Ambassador to the UN.
