Rumours of the sacking Governor Kep Chutema and replacing him with Mr. Pa Socheatvong has caused a stir

News of the sacking of Governor Kep Chutema (pictured) on the morning of 12th November, and that he was replaced by Deputy Governor Pa Socheatvong, has caused a stir. The source of the rumours has said that they hear this story from one of Prime Minister Hun Sen’s confidants.

Whether this information is credible or not, the government spokesman has denied that it is untrue.

Mr. Khieu Kanharith, spokesman for the government, told Kampuchea Thmey newspaper that Governor Kep Chutema has not been sacked and that he is still the governor of Phnom Penh City. Mr. Kanharith considers these information as baseless rumours concocted by someone who want to exploit them for their own gains.

Mr. Kep Chutema has told Kampuchea Thmey newspaper that he did not know anything about this because he is busy supervising the rubbish collections from all city parks to make the city clean after the Water Festival.

Mr. Kep Chutema said: “The reshuffle of the officials’ positions is the job of the government. I don’t know anything about it. But in my capacity as the governor of the city, I have the duties to organise a rubbish collection to make the city beautiful. I can’t leave the rubbish to litter the city for too long after the Water Festival had ended.”

Mr. Pa Socheatvong has denied to Kampuchea Thmey newspaper that he know nothing about this information and that he did not know where these rumours came from.

Mr. Pa Socheatvong said: “I am surprised about these rumours too. Why these sorts of information have been concocted without any basis. Now I am in the middle of the funeral of Gen. Hok Lundy in Svay Rieng. So I truly don’t know all of these rumours.”

Prime Minister Hun Sen used to warn anyone who spread rumours about the sacking and the appointment of government officials. He warned that these sorts of information are created with the intention to cause turmoil.

Prime Minister Hun Sen has warned that these sorts of information will cause the affected officials to lose confidence in the performances of their institutional duties.//

Well...
If CPP sack Kep Chutema, that's a very nice
move. This guy collected a lots of monies these
three or four years.
His time should come !
Let's bring another corrupted man !

I think Hun Neng should be the next governor
of Phnom Penh. He wanted this position
long time ago.
And polices will give a lots of tickets
to give monies to Hun Neng..
the lovely brother of Hun Sen

So before eating, cambodians Sen.
To give benediction to Hun Sen.

5:02am, I read the Khmer version of this article. the article used the word"dork pi domnaeng". It means to withdraw someone from their position. It means the same as "sacking" in English. Another Khmer word for sacking is "bandenh pi damnaeng" means to kick out from the job. But this word is too strong in Khmer. So "dork pi damnaeng", a less stronger word, can be translated as sacking.

Governor, your job is not trash collection. Your job is welfare of the locals in the city. That means law enforcement, shelters, and crime clean up and community development.

Trash pick up is the duty of trash collectors. We didn't assign you to be governor of trash collectors. You're governor of a city. Do your job and let the trash collector do their jobs.

This is probably why you deserve sacking. You got nothing better, or know of nothing better to do then to occupy yourself with picking up people's trash.

The death of the late general Hok Lundy means reshuffling of leaders.

Chea Sophara is better than Kep Chukema

I believe this is a psychiatric war spreading by CPP after Hok Lundy's death.

I heard that too and I was even assured that it was true, though I didn't believe. It was said that not only Kep Chuktema but also other governors were resuffled.

But it would be good if these guys are really resuffled so that they don't stick to the same position for too long.

BTW, will you guys recover from the illness of separation? Will you stop insulting each other and provide constructive criticism instead? Will you all Khmers unify?

If this stupid Kep Chotima can't do his job he needs to resign.

He is very incapable for this job. The water in New Phnom Penh still rise up to people's hip and Kep Chotima didn't do anything. Naturally this place if there any heavy pouring at least a week the water will go down. But this guy and others conspired with business clowns building dike and block the water to leave this place.

Down Kep Chotima!!!

Now, the Chinese is taking over the Vietnamese's cabinets, and the Chinese is authorized Prime Minister Hun Sen to take out any top-vietnamese clowns, and the Chinese will back the prime minister up.

Mr. prime minister, who's next on your agenda, sir?
