Former king Norodom Sihanouk has expressed condolences for the late police chief Hok Lundy, giving $3,000 to the family for the funeral.
Hok Lundy, who faces myriad rights abuse accusations as chief of national police, died in a helicopter crash earlier this month. He was 58.
Sihanouk called Hok Lundy “a nationalist” and said his death was the loss of a “son” of the nation.

victim of bad circumstance. actually, mr. hok lundy had achieved tremendously in his home province of svay rieng for those of us who are not aware. he helped to establish svay rieng's first university for higher learning, established the first ever male and female dormatories unheard of in the province's history, helped to developed the bavet's industrial zone, etc, etc..., only the people of svay rieng can tell you about his achievement. thus, he was, in a way a man of distinguish status, for those who has nothing against him. i think he was unpopular with the opposition people because of his inaction in regards to his duty as the national police head. thus, this inaction was due to the personal conflict between family, friends and that of the lawful or the right thing to do as a responsible police chief. i think it's called the conflict of interest as he was juggling between trying to please his close friends or acquaintences with his job as a police chief. it was a hard job when you're in that position of authority. nevertheless, he will always be loved and remember by people who are close to him or knew him and especially the people of his home province svay rieng, will always know the real man behind their province development and progression. may his good spirit continue to influent others for doing good things for the people of cambodia. god bless cambodia.

You have no idea of what sustainable development is like. Sustainable development can be done systematically through the government, not an individual like Hok Lundy. So now he died. His development will die with him soon despite the promise to continue his legacy made by his family and Hun Sen in Svay Rieng. Those people in Svay Rieng will then plunge into an abyss. Not sustainable. He was corrupt and used his money to buy the heart of the people in his homeland. How about the rest of the country? This kind of development done by Hun Sen, late Hok Lundy, and other heavyweights should be stopped. Hitler made the mighty Nazi military and German people bow to him as an individual, not to the state. This is what Hun Sen and his associates are doing to Cambodia.
Sdach Sihanouk continues to support yuon linving in Cambodia from Paking. I think this retired king wouldn't play as khmer rouge.

Les approvisionnements de ces vietcong ont été plus tard déplacés par camion à leur destination par l'intermédiaire de l'itinéraire 4. Les opérations de déchargement et de transport étaient les activités exclusives d'un certain de Kompong Som à Kompong Spue ou à Phnom Penh, puis de ces endroits à la destination finale, le transport a été fourni par Sihanouk a commandé les camions militaires de mise sur liste noire, qui ont habituellement déchargé chez Snoul et Memot pour le vietcong.
