Opposition leader Sam Rainsy, whom the Phnom Penh municipal court asked to lift his parliamentary immunity because he did not pay the fine imposed on him by the National Election Committee (NEC), said that he is not worried about this attempt. He told The Cambodia Daily on Sunday that, he does not pay attention on the information about this attempt: “I am not worried about my parliamentary immunity lifting, the National Assembly meeting session is more valuable to me than the fine imposed on me.” He added that he will pay the fine to the NEC if it still insists on having him paid it off even though he is still legally fighting this court case. CPP MP Cheam Yiep said that as a MP, Sam Rainsy should pay the fine to the NEC, if he does not pay the fine, he should not contravene the law. Cheam Yiep told The Cambodia Daily that the NA must lift Sam Rainsy’s immunity to force him to pay his fine.

sam rainsy is so out of touch with the ordinary khmer people in cambodia because he seemed to think cambodia is a western country for he likes to impose strong western influence on cambodia without regards to the real situation of the different cultural value cambodian people have such as beliefs, traditional value, etc... mr. sam rainsy need to understand this about the differences between cambodia and the west. i mean it is good that he shows interest to help cambodia, however, he must try to understand the reality of cambodia and that everything he wanted and wishes for cambodia cannot happen overnight. he needs to have patience and a real understanding of the real situation in cambodia, not just his own political ambition. cambodia is bigger than him, and it shouldn't be all about just him. mr. sam rainsy, please get in touch with the real situation in cambodia. cambodia is an asian country, not a western country, ok! thank you. god bless cambodia.
I am totally agreed with 1:58pm everything is said about Ajoe Sadam hun sen and his cpp mafia government.
But I am totally disagreed with 2:47am for the reason that the majority of Khmer people want to be free of oppression. Today Cambodia mafia government and Khmer people are under the oppression of Viet, hanoi. Sam Rainsy is trying to educate Khmer people that they don't have to live under these oppressions and they have other choice to live to be free and prosperity just like western countries and many civilized countries in Asia.
