ASEAN summit disruption by Red Shirt Demonstrators: A huge embarrassment for Thailand and Abhisit

Armed security officers draw their weapons after supporters of ousted Thai prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra tried to enter one of the venues of the 14th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Pattaya April 11, 2009. We must recognised that in this century people are more matured and are more understanding of human right. Therefore this demonstration of red shirt during this very important summit in Thailand is not embarrassing to Thailand at all. I value both to Thailand government, authority and to Thais people of different section for their modern thinking and modern way to run their country. If this demonstration is happening in Cambodia, there would be a lot lives will be wasted because Cambodian leaders are still very barbaric toward their own people yet. it takes Cambodian for many more generations to catch up with this kind of modern leadership. This event in Thailand can be also a lesson to all countries led by tehir barbaric leaders. Areak Prey

They could have prevented this if they wanted to but chose the peaceful method over embarassment. It prevented civil war... for now.

Can you even begin to imagine what the CPP government would have done under the same circumstances? The legacy of the KR and civil war is still fresh in the minds of the present government. We need 30 more years of peace and prosperity before we are able to do the same as the thais.

or any other peaceful democracy might I add.

Thailand did not have any experiences same as the Kingdom of Cambodia. We Khmer suffered during the late 40 years, but have leaned a lot.
What you Thai are talking about "democracy" was just a "politic show".
In a democracy country, all people have to respect the rule and the constitution of the citizen. Therefore we can't just chose for avery 3 months a new Prime Minister like in your country "Thailand."
We all might not like Mr. Hun Sen politic, but we still respect the constitution of the Khmer citizen. We are now on the right track back into the world community. Please be kind don't teach us about your way of DEMOCRACY.

Look at the two idiots above who want this for Cambodia?

This isn't a democracy demonstration. It's a revolution movement. Khmer had our taste of revolution. It was those 3 years 8 months 20 days. Now, we just want peace and stability.

Thailand has enjoyed peace for a while now when Khmer was suffering. Maybe, now Thai's revolution will give me a taste of chaos and suffering.

3:47 PM

It's not the first time in Thailand. It's not a modern thinking, but a tradditional one. Look at Thai history shortly after WWII, a Khmer-Thai PM changes his position just like it happened these days in Thailand.

to all:

Happy New Year to all Khmers everywhere! Please love each others and stay united.

For some people, the demonstration in Thailand maybe seen as an embarrasment to the Thai government, but I personally think otherwise.

Democracy can be translated differently based on cultural differences. What happening in Thailand, however, is really a victory of its people. The Thai government highly respect its people and would sacrifice anything at all cost for them. This is basically one of the most important principles of democray in the comtemporary world, especially the western countries.

History of Thailand,or Siam.

Siam was established as a country from the broken pieces of lands they had stolen from their neghbours, that is, a major part from Cambodia, and other parts from laos, Burma, Malaysia.

Siam people built a country in the name of thieves as they had stolen not only the territories from the neighbours but also the civilization, cultures, and traditions and customs; and now Siams, the thieves, claimed everything that belongs to others as theirs.

They educate their younger generations to be local, regional and international thieves

Thick-Face Siams are now trying to divert the world in preah Vihear case.

Khmer younger generaions should be clear with our history of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The real histories about Cambodia were changed by the Siams so that they can justify their acts of robbery and can continue to robbers and thieves at an interntion standard.

Law of Nature:" one thing that was made from broken pieces of others will break apart into pieces.

Now there are Yellow and Red shirts opposing each other, sooner or later there will be more to be Blue and White shirts. It is time that Thailand will break apart into pieces.

Diferent groups will in the future declair themselves independent and There will be autonomous states.

This is just a joke but it may come true as no one can predict the phenominon.
