The UNESCO World Heritage meeting in Seville, Spain, ended at 7PM on Sunday 28 June (01AM local time in Phnom Penh on Monday 29 June 2009). Thailand was shamefully defeated in its request for a review of the listing of Preah Vihear temple as a World Heritage Site. Preah Vihear temple is a priceless Cambodian heritage that cannot be haggled for. As a result of the UNESCO meeting, the review request by Thailand was not included the agenda of the meeting and Thailand’s representatives were not allowed to give any declaration during the meeting.

I think the next step for Preah Vihear is to develop it and link up with Angkor/SR and Koh Ker/KgThom to form a tourism hub.

So very shameful for Thailand. They indeed have no intention to stay as friendly neighbor with Cambodia. They should learn how to accept reality. We (Khmer) has been taken this reality a lot. We have been so many painful experiences and lost so many. You can name them. We lost almost everything. During the Angkor Wat sacked by Thailand, Thailand has looted and took everything. They have even took a lot of Angkorian people with them in whole number. Now you wonder why Angkor Wat was empty.

As Khmer born, we all are very proud to inform the world about us and our ancestor. We are working very hard to rebuild our country and of course for a better democracy.

The guy probably wanted to express due to Thai greediness. If Thai kept on insisting claiming that Preah Vihear or some parts of Cambodia belong to them and 12:42 AM has the right to say that Thailand once was part of Khmer Empire. He is not bragging about Khmer Empire but he would like the Thai to know that almost part of Thailand belong to Khmer as well. Still, we should be proud of Khmer. And I am proud of Khmer. I love being Khmer and the next life If I am going to born again I want to be as Khmer.

Thailand should learned by now that it useless to fight to regain Preah Vihear back to Thailand. Three successive legal challenges (1962 at ICJ, 2008 at UNESCO, 2009 at UNESCO)confirmed that Cambodia is the sole owner of Preah Vihear and the surrounding lands. It is time for Thailand to pull troops out of the borders and start to be a good neighbor again.
UNESCO has rejected or defeated the Thai one more time!!!!
