Websites put Thai and Cambodia relations in a shaky ground

Chang Mai, Thailand (eTN) - According to some Cambodian media sources, a new website launched by the Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva recently has caused a stir in the Cambodian local media as well as among top officials.

The website at the heart of the controversy, www.ilovethailand.org, claims that parts of today's Cambodia were in fact Thai territories.

The website's claims make headlines in most major newspapers in Cambodia. Khmerization was the first site that has opened the debate on this controversial website, when it received an e-mail from Mr. Dith Nimol alerting the website's claims relating to Thai "lost territory.”

Reaksmei Kampuchea newspaper picked up Khmerization's report. Then Khmer Sthapana, Deum Ampil and Khmer online website, www.everyday.com.kh, have all reported the Thai PM web-site's controversy extensively.

The major English daily Phnom Penh Post reported that Cambodian officials are scurrying to investigate the claims. It quoted Mr. Phay Siphan, spokesman for the Council of Ministers, as saying that "they (the Thai) are twisting the facts of history. It is completely exaggerated."

According to Phnom Penh Post, in 1794, Thailand - then known as Siam - annexed Siem Reap and Battambang provinces from the declining Khmer kingdom, but the territories were returned following a March 1907 treaty between Thailand and France.

And, according to historical records, other Khmer territories annexed by Thailand in the late 18th centuries include Kauk Khan (Sisaket), Surin, Sa Keo, Nokor Reach (Korat) and many more provinces.

Great works. When Thai people read this article they will know that what they have been taught at schools are fake history. Cambodia never stole anyone's lands, only Cambodia's powerful neighbors did steal Cambodian territories.

The site must come down, followed by the KI.

These two sites are nothing but a pile of dog shit.

Like I've said, Cambodia no need to speak for ourselves. There will be a world historian that represent us. If the Thai didn't continue to twist the history this problem wouldn't be this serious. The Thai thought that we still live in dark age. This is the internet world, we can have all kinds of news and we can do much better than the didn't have thought of. We will prove the Thai and the world about our history. There is no need to keep bragging about the history. The world already knew about the Khmer.

Thanks the Thai for waken us UP!!!!

The leaders of Thailand (Siamese) tried to delete Khmer history ont only the fact that we know but even the identity of Khmer Original population in many provinces border to present Cambodia such as Sisaket, Surin, Sa Keo, Nokor Reach (Korat) and many more provinces. They've never recognized those people as Khmer but call them Thais from the south/north-east. Thais tray to take advantage from Khmer while Cambodia was so weak because of the war again outsiders and also internal conflicts. Now they are worrying because Cambodians are united and living in peace and development. They worry that one day the Viets and the Siames may be in trouble because Khmers living in Thailand and South Vietnam may become the separatists.

Hey Siam, Yuon said you are so dump. Is it true? Ccan you work yourself to be a smarter than Yuon?

I believe you can be smarter than Yuon as your country and your people are far wealthier than yuon. I have visited in both countries and made a comparison.

When I have a look at the Khmer country, it is a completely bullshit, being corrupted everywhere from the bottom to the top, from the airport to the high court, from the factory's worker to the prime minister.

Sok An is the most corrupted, he addicted to cock fighting. You can be imagining that a cock fighter is cruel no compassion and merciless.

Siam I don't know why you can't play a better game with a lawless dictatorship country.

Go to bed and do more research about them. If you don't really want to play don't play it. Useless and waste.

It is very sad that the Thai government teaches false history to their students. They manipilate their own people. This is the 21th century and it is also the internet world. The truth will be revealed. Look, Thai students
have to accept the fact that Thailand stole the land from its neighbors such Cambodia, Laos, Burma, and
Malaysia.

The King and I (Abhisit Vejjajiva) Part 2
Before I became the PM of Thailand, I promised to my King that I would steal The Preach Vihear Temple from Cambodia. So I have to show all my effort from my ass such as sent more troops near PV Temple
eventhough VP Temple is a sacred place for Cambodians and VP Temple was registered in UNESCO. Furthermore I have to ask UNESCO to review
VPTemple in Spain before Cambodians celebrates their 1st of success. Then I failed. I wouldn't give up my ass and I have to create a false video clip before The National Geographic broadcasting about The Khmer Empire and I wondered where was Thailand back then. If I do not do a good job, my King would fire me like my former PMs. The End

Too bad the whole world already knew who Cambodia is. We didn't steal no one's lands. It is the other way around that Thai was the only one and continuing to steal Khmer's land bit by bit. But do to the world getting smarter and smarter, the National Geographic aired the fact about the Khmer Empire. Where was Thai before the falling of Angkorian period?? Where was I???

Thanks to the world and most thanks to National Geographic.

Great job! You've proved it!!!

Thailand government breeds hatred and animosity among the people in the region through fake and invented stories in the history. Enough is enough... Isn't UN has a say to the fake history? Or do they condone it?

Concerning the history of Cambodia, on the wall at the temple where in Thailand and Cambodia, it proves base relief on the stone which had written in Khmer on all temples especially at Angkor Wat temple where hundred of Khmer scrips which had written by our ancestors during the Angkor period stated that Khmer territories spread all Southeast Asia. Therefore, NO way Ah Thai (Siem) can’t change the history and Cambodia territories belong to Thailand as it stated.
