I am currently working for this Vietnamese Gold Company Sacombank SBJ Cambodia as a Sales position. I started with this company from a very beginning. This company signing a Probationary Labour Contract for 3 months period with a salary of $200 net per month. I have worked for them since their company has no presence in Cambodia yet until recently they establish their network and Office here at 58 Norodom Blvd, Sangkat Chey Chumneas, Khan Daun Penh, Phnom Penh. Also my probationary period has come to an end and I have perform my duties exceptionally in Labour contract.
Once the probationary period contract ended, they started to sign a fixed contract with me for One Year, however, they decreased my salary down to $180 per month and included all the job related expenses as sales person must use our own motorbike and petrol. [This contract is] Even worse than my probationary contract and when I speak to the Director of Sacombank SBJ Cambodia, Mr. Pham Anh Tai, he was making an excuse that because I can not speak Vietnamese. This is a ridiculous excuse, I wonder whether our Cambodian Labour laws protect our Khmer laborer. This foreign company is bullying our Khmer laborer and exploiting us because we need a job from them. Even more shameful and pressure from this foreign company is that even we work for them one year after that they only sign contract with us for 6 months or 1 year again.
Normally, after 3 months probationary then there will be a fixed contract without ending for a normal position like us for any other local company here in Cambodia. But this Sacombank SBJ Cambodia and their other companies such as Bank exploiting on Cambodian laborer. After probationary then sign one year contract. Even worse is after one year they can decrease our salary and sign another 6 months contract or one year again or decrease our salary. This is their practice on Cambodian employees.
Now I can not stand with their treatment to our Khmer people like me. I have submitted my resignation letter since I can not accept this insult. I hope Ministry of Labor should look into such a practice to protect Khmer laborers in our own homeland from being exploited by Vietnamese Company. Khmer need jobs that is why we labor for them but we want dignity in our home ground too.

One of the best ways to deal with the Viet scumbag isd to spead the words, Media/newspapers, friends,coworkers, parliamentarians, write a petition to related officials as you did but need to do more but don't expect them to get any result for you but to have them take a note and go to sleep again.
2nd way the same as the first one but seek advice and infrom from any NGO of human rights.
They are making the best of you and from Cambodia. First, they don't have to pay benefits if you are on contract. Second, they can change anything they want. Third, they are not the bank for Cambodia.
You need to tell them, this is not in Vietnam I don't need to speak Vietnamese in order to work because you open your business in Cambodia. You must and always need a worker that can speak at least fluent Khmer and English.
This is another sign of Vietnamization our country. Cambodia labor laws must take this serious and investigate this seriously.

If the Cambodian government truely look out for their own people, the labor law would be enforce. But we know who they (govt) really look out for.

maybe khmer should call on gov't o implement labor law that protect the host country, i.e. khmer employee from unfair labor practice by anyone in cambodia or overseas. everything required the law or employees will be abused and treated unfairly. it could happen anywhere, really! you see, with law in place, you can hire a lawyer and sue them for mistreat, discrimination, unfair labor practice, etc, etc...! think about it, the rule of law is god's way of helping cambodia, wake up, ok! support or advocate for the rule of law in cambodia, it's our weapon against injustice, really! in the court of law, nobody can win with the law!

During the day the VC came to help the Cambodian villagers for free to chop wood, fetch water, clean garbage around the house……But at the same time the VC made every effort to remember where all foods were. At night the VC sneaked in to steal the pigs, ducks, chickens, dogs….
Under Sihanouk regime and in the late 60’s the NV/VC (North Viet/VC) were friends of Cambodia, they even had Embassies in Phnom Penh. But behind the back they destroy Cambodia economy by creating inflation.
Some of you may be old enough to remember the 500 riels Tevada banknotes.

At the time the of exchange was 1 US$ = 55 riels, the NV/VC flooded their friendly Cambodian market with this fake 500 riels Tevada banknotes from 1964 until the government found out in early 1970. Several millions of these fake notes were in circulation to create inflation.
If you have relatives living in Krek or Snoul in the 60’s, they would tell you how the NV/VC spent the money like paper. They paid for food and tobacco…above the market price.
Here what you need to do:
-Tell all Cambodian custermers to close all their accounts. You tell them what you had exepencies with the Bank.
-Use International Bank instead of VN-Banks.
You did a good job in your writinga and for standing up to the injustice of the Viet company operating in Cambodia. We need a law to protect the Khmer workers. It is only the law that can protect us. I like what you said a lot -- we need jobs and that is why we trade our skills with them, but we cannot accept their insult on our Khmer dignity for without our country their businesses would not grow anyway. I like that thought a lot. Stay positive and move on to a better workplace, and thank you for letting us know about the YUONs, even if it is just one company. We are fairminded people but we know the Yuons are never known to be trusted. The Cambodian government is always blind and favorable toward the YUONS so we can't count on them much. Remember, the Cambodian government continues to allow the YUONs to grab more Khmer land through the bordery treaty of 1985. Why oh why the border treaty when the French already created the borderline between CoChinchina and Cambodge. Cambodian government it is not working for the Khmer people but for their own self-interests in stead. Remember Chaufa Ben the Lord Governor of Battambang? He did not work for the interests of the Khmer people at all but for the Kings of Siam instead. He let the Thais controlled the Western parts of Cambodia. Remember the Chinese merchant turned Khmer governor of Peam Principality in the South? He too did not work for the Khmer nation, he worked for the Nguyen Kings and detached a huge chunk of Kampuchea Krom area to the Viets. Now Hun Sen and his clique are doing the same thing. They have the power and money and army but they choose to work for ah Yuons instead. These rotten people of power in Cambodia should stop start loving the Khmer people and Khmer land more than they love the foreigners. I bet when Hun Sen is out of power, his descendants will be granted noble statuses by the Vietnamese government because Chaufa Ben's descendants still carry the noble title Aphaiwong in Thailand, and Mac Cao's descendants still carry the noble title in Vietnam. I bet Hun Sen and his descendants will be rewarded by the Yuons in the future because Hun Sen had ceded Cambodia's islands and more farmland areas to benefit the Yuons.
If we still do not learn from the previous mistakes, we will not be able to survive. In thirty more years, I believed the longest time we have, the Vietnamization in Cambodia would be finished.
Therefore, what are we waiting for? Are we waiting for the U N to help us out from this trap? Or are we waiting for any one of the world superpowers to help us on this problem? Is that so, just going back to sleep and waiting for the death.
My beloved brothers and sisters, there is no body but us to help ourselves. Those world superpowers are just too busy for their own things; or if they want to involve in our business, it just because they want to benefit their own homes.
There fore, if we do not try hard ourselves, we will fail; ours children will be homeless.
There will be no more Cambodia in the future, just like “Champa”; we will become minorities in our homeland.

This is the strategy of those Viet companies. The only excused they can think of is performance insulting khmer laborer. Only those Ah youn can perform better then we do. If so why fucking come to our country for why don't just stay back in ah youn country. we should stand up for this foreign policies, Ministry of Labour should look in to this foreign labor policies. We should create a policies to provide jobs and protection our Khmer brothers and sisters worker. They come to our country they should use our labour and abide our host country rules if not kick them out. I see a flaw in labour laws..... stated that foreign work force can only have 10% of the total number of all employee however, there is a gap that they can acquire more then 10% of foreign some Viet Companies can bright their viet employee to work in cambodia more then 20% or 30% as long as they pay money to Labor ministry. This is the law that served the Ministry of Labour not serve our khmer people. Allow foreign to intrude our land and economy yet even a piece of mind which our ordinary khmer want also take it away as well which is "Employment" what else will they take? soon will like "Champar".
Those Ah Youn companies better think it over again if you are invest in our country we are welcome but do respect our host country don't just implement your Ah youn policies, discrimination and intimediation because if you do so we are all won't let you sucking our blood peacefully.
