Without Hun Sen working with the Vietnamese to topple Pol Pot, I don't know where you are right now.
Hun Sen alone can't solve the problem of corruption in Cambodia and you know that. You surely know Charet Khmer (Khmer Characters), don't you?
In your Lon Nol's regime, the same corruption was everywhere. New villas sprung up in Phnom Penh and you know that since you were then also in Phnom Penh yourself.
Corruption was also under the Sihanouk's regime. Corruption is part of Cambodian society.
Do you want to get rid of it? Then start educating the new generation. I wish you good luck and all the best because that is hopefully one effective way to do it!
shit, 2:24 AM, lon nol is turning in his grave now! This is 10000 times worse than in his era. The total debts, that included the guns and rice to fight the vietcongs and khmer rouge totaled to about $300 million owing to uncle sam for all his 5 years...the current RCG has been receiving $500million per year average from foreign donors (loans not included) since the 90's, and that is not even including the revenues from Angkor Wat tourism, land grabbings, illegal immigration by the vietcongs, and the illegal loggings of Cambodia's precious forests, so on, and so on, plus the oil and mineral in the near future. I guess someone needs to dig deep into Mr. Keat's ministry of finance to get the right (or cooked-up) numbers
Cambodia needs some "waking-up" to do to bring the criminal national robbers into the open....it happened in the Philippines, Indonesia, Iraq, etc.
To 2:24 AM ...Vietnam spread Communist doctrine since 1929 to everywhere in Cambodia.In 1938 Communist ideology sprang up in the country side of Cambodia. 40 years ago, I mean in 1970 Sihanouk was in china at that time;he called Vietnamese troops to invade Cambodia.The Vietminh grew up all over Cambodia.These Vietminh lived among Khmer Rouge.Khmer Rouge and Khmer Vietminh mixed Khmer Rouge Troops.This was the way Vietnamese killed.Vietnamese let the Khmer killed Khmer.The Khmer Vietminh troops ran to Vietnam,then the Vietnamese and Khmer Rouge Vietminh came back in 1979.All Khmer people said," Vietnamese soldiers troops save Khmer people from the killing field".All these were/are Vietnam tricks.Look ! what does Hun Sen give to Vietnam.The five million Vietnamese illegal immigrants and much,much more......I could tell you all;please do the research by yourself .Thank you !

2:24AM is a Khmer who has been brain washed by Hun Sen, The CPP and especially Hanoi to be grateful to them with the Vietnamese invasion of Cambodia in 1979.
This mantra has been ingrained in the person's brain as well as in Hun Sen and families, all the corrupted CPP members and the opportunists both Khmers and foreigners who have been receiving any benefit to satisfy their power and greed. Such philosophy and baseless analytical ideas can only be preached amongst these type and people regardless of background who are brainless and tunnel vision.
The more they use the trick trying to convince people the more it opens up the dark secret to allow all Khmer people wanting to learn more about our history, past and present. Despite it may take time for the people to learn and understand, they cannot change the fact that they are falsifying the history. They are underestimated and insulted the intellectual ability of Khmer people. For example they promote the national day of 7 January would only portrait them as traitor not liberator. They are in controlled now because they are in power, but once the regime change, I bet the writer would be the first one to change tune to embrace the new regime. So please keep talking and bringing information to educate our people about our genuine history and facts to challenge this parasite from misleading facts and history.

Of course, the Vietnamese have ambition and want Cambodia under their influence; but the fact remains clear that the KR killed their own people because of their stupid paranoia and obsession with Vietnamese infiltration and for that reason anyone with a different idea is a Vietnamese.
The KR of Pol Pot were not created by the Vietnamese and they are the real killers. Go to ECCC and tell them that they are stupid trying to prosecute the KR leaders including Duch. Stop doing what they are doing and begin on working to prosecute the real killers, the Vietnamese.
You can write to ECCC and tell them which Vietnamese to prosecute and you should know since you are very smart.
Let us say that all the KR are all created by the Vietnamese; don't they know they are Cambodians? Of course, they do. Even a dump person like me knows that I am a Cambodian, but of course you may think that I am a Cambodian with a Vietnamese head!
As Cambodians they should not have killed Cambodians! However, Cambodians tend to be only good at killing each other and also serving other races for their own group benefits.
Who created a Pol Pot's regime? Of course, it is Pol Pot, himself and his close associates who are being tried right now in PP by the ECCC.
You can say Vietnam and that is your opinion. You can also include Sihanouk, China, or even America who bombs Cambodia's countryside to pieces and last but not least, you can also blame Lon Nol and his government for being so incompetent and corrupt that they lost the war to the KR.
It does not matter who created the KR and how they came to power; the fact of the matter is that once in power they should not have killed their own people the way they did.
