Cambodia rejects claims it trained activists in weapons

Phnom Penh - The Cambodian government on Monday denied that members of a Thai insurgent group had received military training from Cambodian government forces.

Thailand's Department of Special Investigations claimed that 39 anti-government militants received weapons training at a Cambodian army camp.

Thai authorities also claimed the so-called red shirts had been trained to carry out assassinations on key public figures, including Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva.

Cambodian government spokesman Phay Siphan denied the allegations.

'It's made up. Our constitution does not allow anyone to do that sort of thing [on Cambodian soil],' Phay Siphan said. 'Nobody is allowed to do any such stupid thing in Cambodia.'

He said recent meetings between Prime Minister Hun Sen and Abhisit in the United States and Brussels were evidence of Cambodia's good intentions to improve relations.

'So I think this accusation is a made-up story to blame Cambodia, and is also [part of the] campaign against the red shirts, using Cambodia as a springboard for Thai local politics,' he said.

'It is a nonsense for Cambodia to foster [trouble] with anyone,' he said.

Thai news outlets quoted Lieutenant Colonel Payao Thongsen as saying that 11 activists arrested recently had confessed to receiving training in Cambodia. He said 28 others had also taken part.

Relations between the neighbours have been tense for more than two years with sporadic clashes between troops over disputed territory near Preah Vihear temple on Cambodia's northern border.

Diplomatic relations improved in August after Thailand's fugitive former premier Thaksin Shinawatra, who has close links to the red shirt movement, resigned from two advisory positions he had held with Phnom Penh since late 2009.

It is crazy Thailand. Our export is low than Thailand, Thailand should not accuse Cambodia like this. We love Khmer Surin, We want them to learn Khmer language

I think at one point and time HS and Thaksin collaborate to take down Abhisit so his friend Thaksin can come back and retake his position. But, after Thaksin quit being HS financial advisor and a fugitive on the run....they ended their corporation.
During the meeting in New York & Belgium, HS and Abhisit got reacquainted and can now see eye to eye.
Now, the past come back to haunt HS.

This is difinitly a planed political move to divert problems in Thailand. Never trust Thailand. We can continue to be enemies if they continue to behave this way.

This is the most absurd news I have ever read. Cambodian armed forces trained the Thai revoluntionists? I have never heard of that before. I only read in history books that the Siems trained the Khmer Srey Forces to topple Sihanouk and the Yuons trained the Khmer Rouge to topple Sihanouk. I don't ever believe that Cambodia under Hun Sen would ever do that against Thailand because he knows that Thailand will kick his azz in no time. Heheheh. The only thing that Hun Sen cares about is his tight grip on power. Check on Dap-news by Soy Sopheap. Soy Sopheap reported that Hun Sen is busy maintaining his personal body guards of hundreds of thousands troopers to protect him in case there is a coup against him. His personal troopers brutally showed their swift death actions against Rannaridth's defeated troopers already. Rannaridth's troopers were captured and slaughtered and burned as mere useless animals. Soy Sopheap went on to report that while Sihanouk allowed to coup to happen, it will never happen as long as Hun Sen is in power. Soy Sopheap went on to predict that when Sam Rainsy becomes the Prime Minister of Cambodia, there will be a coup against Sam Rainsy for sure because Sam Rainsy does not have a build up of any personal dedicated troopers to counter and crack down on any coup attempts.

Look at all Hun Sen's generals. The moment they open their mouths, they speak of the name Hun Sen. It sounds as if they want to prove time and time again that they are still committed and loyal for eternity to every HUN SEN's commands. Hehehe.
